This season of life has looked a little different. 💛 I’m currently going through radiation and have made it through the first of my surgeries. There have definitely been a few bumps in the road, but overall I’m doing well, and for that I’m incredibly grateful.

One of my biggest fears after surgery was whether I’d still have the steady hand needed for the delicate details that I love so much. Cakes like this one, with all of its intricate piping, remind me just how thankful I am that I’m still able to create.

None of this would be possible without my incredible team. They’ve stepped in, lifted me up, and made it possible for me to keep doing what I love, even on the hard days.

More than anything, I’m grateful—for my health, for the people who surround me with love, for the ability to keep creating, and for this beautiful life. Every cake feels like a gift. 🤍

Today I created a wedding cake that reminded me exactly why I do this.

As many of you know, I’m currently walking through cancer treatment, and with surgery coming soon, I know I’ll need to temporarily step away from the work I love so deeply. Creating this cake was incredibly hard on my body today, harder than most people could probably see. But it also reminded me that this is so much more than a job to me. It’s art. It’s passion. It’s part of who I am.

There’s something so meaningful about taking fondant, texture, and emotion and turning them into something beautiful for someone’s most special day. Even in the middle of one of the hardest seasons of my life, creating still brings me joy.

Stepping away, even temporarily, is not easy for me. But this season is teaching me strength in a different way. And while I’ll be taking time to heal, I already know one thing for certain: I cannot wait to come back and create again. 🤍

This cake got the full farmers market treatment thanks to a fun collaboration with Hollie of who absolutely brought the vision to life with her amazing food styling skills. Honestly, if someone walks by and tries to dip ranch in this cake… we get it. 😂🥒🍰
