Last week I received a call that Kayson had been accepted into 3 prestigious animation summer programs. Anyone that knows Kayson, knows how amazing of an opportunity & accomplishment this is for him! He’s gone from having the fine motor skills of a toddler in elementary school, to spending every second of his days writing, illustrating, & creating characters in his comic series: Kaytoon’s World. He overcomes daily social & emotional challenges associated with being a teenager with autism and we are beyond elated & proud to see his hard work and talents being acknowledged on a national level. Due to the timing, location, & finances he cannot attend all three. So he has made the decision to prioritize the one that peaks his interest and is most aligned with his goals and has chosen to accept the offer to attend The New York Film Academy in the heart of New York City this summer. With that being said, Kayson & our family will begin fundraising for travel & lodging to ensure he can attend with no interruptions. “Egg My Yard” will be our 1st fundraiser and is right in time for Easter.
