Our Story

Sugar & Spice Sweetery takes great pride in making custom orders into edible pieces of art. Meticulous attention to detail, allows for orders to be as unique as the individual. Our cake toppers are hand sculpted and/or painted and can become a keepsake you will have forever. Dawn Olson-Wallerus, Owner & Cake Artist, has 20 years of experience in the industry. A hobby turned into a career, turned into a thriving business. Dawn started her own custom cake business out of her home in March 2017. Her fast success led her to open a storefront in partnership with Ally Restaurants (Rock Elm Tavern, Holman’s Table) in February 2020. Six weeks later a global pandemic hit, and the small business was hit hard.

The difficult decision was made to close the retail storefront, but it’s not a true goodbye. Dawn will continue her custom dessert business by appointment. So if you have an upcoming micro wedding, birthday, retirement - reach out!
