Today is a pretty special day around our cottage. 🥹

Not only is it my golden birthday — 29 on the 29th ✨ but it’s also my sweet boy’s 5th birthday! 🎂💙

Five years ago, I became a mama to this little guy, and somehow today I’m celebrating him turning FIVE while celebrating 29 years of being me. Time really does fly.

This year, more than anything, I’m feeling incredibly grateful. Grateful for my family, for this crazy little life we’ve built, and for The Crust & Crumb Cottage and every single person who has supported it along the way.

This business started as something small in our kitchen, and it has become such a special part of our family’s story. Every loaf, every market, every order, every kind message — it all means more than you probably realize.

So today, we’re putting the baking aside and celebrating two birthdays, lots of cake, and the people we love most. 🥳

Happy 5th birthday to my sweet boy, and happy golden birthday to me. 🥂✨

29 on the 29th. I think that deserves some extra cake. 😉🎂

There’s something really special about waking up the morning after a market and just feeling… grateful. 🥹❤️

Yesterday was another one of those days where we looked around at all of you and thought, how did we get so lucky? Thank you for showing up, supporting our little cottage bakery, trying new flavors, coming back for your favorites, and continuing to make this crazy little dream possible.

And now, we’re taking a little break. ❤️

We will NOT be at the farmers market for the next two Saturdays. We have my son’s birthday, my birthday, and lots of other family things happening over the next couple of weeks. It’s going to be busy, but the good kind of busy. 🥰

In fact, this morning we’re off on a little adventure to take down a playset for the kids and bring it home. And as we loaded up and headed out, I couldn’t help but think…

Without this business, we wouldn’t be able to do things like this.

This bakery has given us so much more than bread. It’s given us opportunities, memories, flexibility, and the ability to say yes to things for our family that we might not otherwise be able to do.

So thank you. Truly. ❤️

We’ll miss seeing you at the market these next two weeks, but we’ll be back before you know it — and probably with plenty of stories from our little family adventures. 😉
