Hello everyone, I will unfortunately no longer be delivering and only baking once a week for pickups, right across Brooklyn’s best kept secret landmark, aka 1891’s Boys' High School, which 〰️ to be honest 〰️ looks more like a Christo wrapping than anything else, these days.
Baking day is usually Saturday but always DM to confirm/order. Pick it up while it’s hot in mid/late morning, or anytime on Saturdays.

Recipe change on the Walnut Sourdough 📯
After a bunch of iterations, it now features 18% Whole Rye.
Still 27% total Wholegrain content.
Still the same purple hue from the walnut tannins.
Still amazing and surprisingly versatile.
And for what it’s worse, still my personal favorite.

Where does the smell of lavender take you?
It takes me back to my grandmother Jeanine’s gigantic planter at her house up on a hill facing Lascaux. She had some rose bushes in there too, and some uninvited but very welcome wild strawberries which I would check daily during summer days. She was a skilled gardener and a legendary cook who always cooked for 20 people even when there was just 6 of us. Her parents both worked at the privately owned Château de Montignac. Her mother was a cook and her father a gardener. Jeanine and her sister grew up playing in the Castle’s park. Not many parks beat Prospect Park, but that one sure did when you had it all for yourself.

It takes time to discover NYC’s best kept secrets but I found my match when it comes to charcuterie! .nyc makes small batch charcuterie that truly tastes exceptional. Very grateful to have discovered and traded with you man 🐷💘.
Go check him out in Bushwick and while you’re at it, you can take ’s cheese advice blindly, it’s well worth it 🙌

Seasonal fruits got me in the mood of revisiting a French classic: Clafoutis. For as long as I can remember, my grandmothers picked the ripest cherries, apricots, peaches or pears in their garden to make this simple and delicious fruit cake. Now coming to you in NYC, individual size. $5 a piece, $9 for two.
Because it’s made with ripe fruits, availability will depend on what organic fruit I can find week by week.
