🚨 Well, friends… it finally happened. 🚨
After hundreds of cakes leaving Da’Ville BakeHouse looking fabulous, one of my sweet creations experienced what can only be described as a tragedy . 😭🎂
This particular beauty was a rush order. I keep extra cake layers baked on weekends just for occasions like this. Her buttercream was freshly prepared, she was decorated with love, and she stayed safely tucked away in the refrigerator until about 3 minutes before pickup.
Now, yes, it’s Louisiana. Yes, it’s hot. And yes, I’ve worked hard to create a silky smooth buttercream that can handle our southern heat while still tasting amazing. ☀️💪
Unfortunately, even the best cake can’t survive every bump, sharp turn, sudden stop, or unexpected adventure once it leaves my hands. Accidents happen to all of us—bakers and customers alike!
So here’s your friendly Cake Care Reminder:
🎂 Transport cakes on a flat surface.
🚗 Keep them in an air-conditioned vehicle.
☀️ Avoid direct sunlight.
🏃♀️ Drive like you’re transporting your grandmother’s favorite casserole.
I take great pride in every order and always ensure cakes leave my home in excellent condition. Once a cake is picked up, responsibility transfers to the customer. Because I cannot control transportation, handling, or storage after pickup, I am unable to offer refunds or complimentary replacements for damage that occurs after a cake leaves my possession.
The good news? Even when a cake has a rough day, it still tastes delicious. ❤️
Now excuse me while I go hug the next cake a little tighter before it leaves the nest 🪺
