This week we read the Torah Portion Emor. It
It has many mitzvos in it. Much to learn.
The first verse teaches us we must teach by example. We can not demand from our children we must show them how to behave by our own actions!
Today, Friday is
The 14th of Iyar. It is the day of *Pesach Sheini*, the second Pesach. In the Sinai Desert, whoever was unable to celebrate the first Seder in Nissan was given an opportunity to celebrate Pesach a month later. In the middle of the month of Iyar. This day became one of rectification, of taking advantage of a second chance to make up for what was missed the first time; it represents the idea that it's never too late to make amends. The most beautiful gift of our relationship to Hashem.
This Monday night and Tuesday is The 18th of Iyar , *Lag BaOmer*, the day that Shimon Bar Yochai, who is identified with illumination of the hidden Torah or Kabbalah passed away.
There are many celebrations as per his request.
Join us, Monday 5:45 pm at Congress Hill Farms.
The month of Iyar possesses a special quality unique among all the months of the year: In this month, each day is associated with a mitzvah, that of Sefirat HaOmer (counting the Omer). Although we begin counting the Omer in the middle of the month of Nissan and we finish on the festival of Shavuot in the month of Sivan, *it is only in the month of Iyar that each day is counted*. Thus, it is a month that reminds us to appreciate the value of each day and to utilize our time to the fullest.
The month of Iyar teaches us that each day is important and unique unto itself.
Let's take the energy of this special month and really utilize it's energy to help us grow and appreciate each moment and always know we have an opportunity to make things right.
Please remember to light your shabbos candles before 7:39 pm and shabbos ends 8:43 pm
Have a wonderful shabbos !
Shabbat shalom.
