This week has already been a lot on me and today at work I’m waiting on my tables the same as I always do. I proceeded to check this table out and the lady asks

Lady: How much would you like for a tip?
Me: Whatever you give me is fine.
Lady: what do you need?
Me:Nothing
Man with the lady: How old are you?
Me:24
Him: you have kids?
Me: yes a son, he’s 4.
Her: if he needed anything how much would it be?
Me: He needs a lot I’m not sure( I smile and walk away)
Her: you pay all your bills?
Me:yes ma’am
Her: if you had a pay a bill today what would it be?
Me: Rent
her:How much your rent?
Me: $375
Her: Okay I’m leaving you a $375 tip, I’m paying your rent for august.

Y’all I couldn’t do anything but cry!!! This was a blessing in disguise! 😭😭😇❤️

After much deliberation and consideration as to our situation and the condition of our restaurant after the December fire last year, Amy and I have decided to not reopen the bakery/pizzeria. Honestly, with the last few years - the flood, COVID and the fire we just don’t have the energy that it will take to rebuild and reopen. The fire not only took away our business….it took away our home.

Currently we have been talking with two separate groups regarding the possible purchase of our building. Depending on negotiations, our other option would be to leave it closed and pay the taxes until a possible buyer comes through. We are working to regain access to the building with repairs to our three entry points and will begin clearing out personal effects and other items we will take with us.

Thank you Malvern for your patronage for the last 10 years. We have enjoyed serving you and will miss you.

Well we are still waiting on the engineer, the demolition team, Insurance Agents or maybe the National Guard and Space Monkeys🐵. Or whoever else needs to be involved in allowing us to move back into our apartment and eventually the store. So until then if you see us in Hastings just wave and we’ll wave back. 🎼On the road again!!!

Due to the water and smoke damage sustained during the Main Street Fire, Moreau’s Backerei & Pizzeria will not be having our scheduled pop-ups in December and possibly January. We regret that our kitchen and workcenter areas sustained substantial damage that prevents us from completing any of our special orders. We will be refunding those customers who have already pre-paid and apologize to all our customers for any inconvenience that this has caused you.

Virtual Pop-up!

I will be doing Cinnamon Rolls and Salted Caramel Pecan Rolls for Wednesday, December 8th, Thursday the 9th and adding Friday, December 10th. I am taking orders for blossoms (8 rolls minimum - in increments of 😎 only. If interested text 402-943-6945 with name, phone number and number of blossoms you want. If you need them early in the morning I will need sufficient notice as grumpy bears love their sleep.

Moreau’s Backerei and Pizzeria Pop Up this Saturday 12/4 features “Cookies from Around the World.” Prepackaged party trays, assorted individual cookies, salted caramel pecan and cinnamon rolls, muffins and other pastries will be available for purchase. Open from 10am to 2pm. You can order your Christmas cookies and stollen at this time as well.
