Companion Breads A community supported bakery (CSB) based in Mahtomedi, MN, producing naturally leavened rustic breads sold by subscription and at local Farmers Markets.

The word companion literally means “with bread.” A companion is someone with whom you break bread. It is my joy to make hearty bread baked in a wood-fired oven for you to enjoy alone or share with family and friends. Companion Breads is committed to preserving the ancient tradition of bread baking and strengthening community life. We produce a mix of naturally leavened (sourdough) and yeasted breads. All bread is baked in my wood-fired brick oven in Mahtomedi.

We’ll be at the Mahtomedi Farmers Market this summer. It starts Saturday, June 26th and is at Veteran’s Memorial Park (formerly Triangle Park). The market goes from 8 AM to 12 noon, though we usually sell out by 11 AM.
