We took over on October 16, 2019 from the Yu family. We learned the business, we improved the store and recipes. We had a great time and our business started to grow. At the height of our time we had multiple daily standing deliveries, churches with large Sunday orders, catering orders from hotels with the item count in the thousands. On weekends we could go through 90 eggs in just tacos.
In March the world experienced an unprecedented disease outbreak and quarantine. Our business went to less than a fifth of what it was. We persevered, we sought out new ways to market, and we even startng giving away a lot of free donuts and delivering them to people trapped at home. We also regularly sent them to stores like HEB, Krogers, Target, Petsmart, etc. We also gave donuts to the local fire stations and police departments.
In the end we have succumb to the financial effects of this plague. Without enough traffic coming through the door we were forced to pay rent and payroll from our personal accounts.
As of noon today, August 30, 2020 we are permanently closing our doors. Our customers have been fantastic, there just have not been enough of them.
