I haven't posted much since I have closed the storefront, but I wanted to share with you how things have been going since then.

I started a new full-time job and I have had orders every weekend. It has been a challenge to say the least. I have paused taking new orders so I can truly assess what is the best way to make a sustainable living and fuel my passion. Running the business from home is just not the same 😞. I miss seeing my regular customers faces. Hoping all of you are doing well.

While I am in transition from the store to a home-based business, I am using my platform to share about other small businesses.

Today's spotlight is Regale Cupcakery. Travonee offers many flavors of cupcakes. I opted to try 2 flavors that were outside the box, purple velvet and tomato soup cupcakes. The purple velvet gets its purple color from ube, a purple yam. The cupcake was packed with flavor and topped with a beautiful purple frosting dusted with gold.

My favorite of the 2 was the tomato soup. It was a moist cake but not overly sweet. The frosting was light, airy, and allowed the flavor of the cupcake to shine.

As a baker, I am very particular about desserts when I eat out. I want to share with you one of my favorite sweet spots, Pizzelle's.

Caitlin and Michelle are sisters who own this hidden gem in Lowe Mill. When I need a good chocolate fix they are my go to place. I picked up an assortment this Tuesday.

Each flavor is beautifully crafted by hand and worth every penny spent.

Here are some of the flavors I tried:
*= my favorites

Man on the Moon. Peach pate enrobed in chocolate with a beautiful swirl pattern.

*Afternoon delight was the Truffle Tuesday special. The pop of lemon was pleasantly tart, and it had an elderberry liquor finish. Truly fitting of its name.

*Date night. I loved the texture of the orange peel and the tamarind flavor. My island roots were singing with joy.

*Strawberry Basil Aka Free Britney. Strawberry and chocolate can't go wrong.

Flower power. Signature drinking chocolate, marshmallow, hot chocolate in a tiny pretty package. Try their drinking chocolate too.

*Sexy back. Well balance of ooey gooey caramel and chocolate

*Green Dragon. Vegan. Dark chocolate, strong rich coffee flavor, deep burnt sugar, and cardamom.

*The pizzelle. Silky ganache, liquor, and coffee with warm anise spice

Iron Side. Chocolate and bourbon.
