I tried two new bread experiments today:

The first is a wrapped sourdough loaf with the inner layer coated in everything bagel seasoning. We love topping our regular sourdough slices with this seasoning, so I figured baking it on would be even better. We'll cut into this tomorrow, and if it's any good, I'll add it to the menu!

The second was a sourdough turkey. It ended up with extra skinny legs and wings, but it was a fun attempt at a shaped loaf. 😄

This has been a busy bread baking week! I wanted to send a loaf of sourdough to all of my children's teachers as well as the administrators and office staff before Thanksgiving break The process started Tuesday morning and involved 2 rounds of mixing, shaping, and baking and delivering 18 loaves over 2 days, with final deliveries happening at school on Friday. (2 additional loaves will be staying home with me because they baked funny, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make 🤪.)

Need an idea for all that Halloween candy that's sitting on your counter? Try chopping it up and using it as a mix-in in your favorite cookie dough base! I left these in big chunks, so, of course, I had to use my jumbo cookie scoop!

P.S. Check out my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe in the pictures! I add about 1/4 cup of flour to a single batch and bake from frozen. For Jumbo cookies I bake for 6 minutes at 450, then lower it to 350 for 5 minutes. Crispy outside, gooey inside! Want perfectly round cookies? As soon as they come out of the oven, place a cup or biscuit cutter around the cookies and swirl a couple times 😉

How Sweet It Is!

There are a lot of lucky students and teachers who are heading back to school soon. Make the beginning of school a little sweeter with a cookie decorated in their school colors! These cookies are rolled in sugar sprinkles and are huge (bigger than before thanks to a new cookie scoop)! If you don't see your colors here, let me know what color combo you need!

These will be individually packaged with a yellow bow. Teacher packs will have a sticker that says "How sweet it is to be taught by you!" with a place for your student to sign. Student packs will have a sticker that says "How sweet it is to be in (2nd) grade!
