A pretty big milestone for Becker Bakeshop. 🤍

The bakery plan has officially been approved by Food & Lodging, which means we finally have the green light to move on to the next chapter: building the bakeshop.
Over the next few months, you’ll see this space transform as we tackle sheetrock, painting, plumbing, electrical, flooring, equipment, fixtures, and all the little details that go into creating a food-safe, functional bakery.
This approval feels like such an important turning point. The planning is becoming progress. The ideas are becoming tangible. Little by little, Becker Bakeshop is becoming a place.
A place where sourdough will rise, cookies will fill the shelves, local ingredients will find their way into the recipes, and our community can gather for something delicious.

So, what’s next? We get to work.🤍

Thank you to everyone who has supported this dream along the way. I can’t wait to take you with me as Becker Bakeshop takes shape.

✨They’re back!!! ✨
I’ll be opening up orders for cinnamon roll sugar cookies tomorrow! They’ll be available for pickup next Thursday in Maddock or Farmers Grocery in Sheyenne.
Now that I have a new (to me) oven I’m able to bake more in less time and can add some items back on the menu. 🥳
What else should I bring back? Or what’s something new I should add??!!

This honey was spun just two days ago by my father-in-law at Becker Farms, and I honestly think it may be the best honey I’ve ever tasted.

It’s beautifully floral, silky smooth, and has a depth of flavor that you just don’t get from the honey sitting on a grocery store shelf. One taste and I immediately started dreaming about all the ways I could use it in the Bakeshop. 🥖🍯

I love being able to source ingredients close to home, but even more so when they come from family. Knowing the care that went into producing this honey makes me even more excited to bake with it. 🍯🤍

My hope is that when Becker Bakeshop opens, this honey will find its way into some of our baked goods and, hopefully, onto our shelves for you to take home, too.

🍫Double Chocolate Sourdough is back on the menu!!!
There are so many delicious ways to enjoy it:
• Toasted with a smear of salted butter
• Topped with cream cheese or mascarpone
• As French toast for a decadent breakfast
• Warmed just enough for the chocolate to get melty
• Paired with coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk

My favorite way? A toasted slice before bed when I’m craving something sweet. It’s the perfect little treat to end the day without reaching for a cookie or candy bar.

With so many new faces here lately, I thought it was the perfect time to introduce myself.
✨🤍Welcome! 🤍✨
I’m Mandy, the owner and baker behind Becker Bakeshop. I’m a wife, a mom to three amazing kids, and someone who loves creating beautiful, delicious treats that bring people together.
Owning this bakery is more than a business, it’s the fulfillment of a dream. Purchasing our town’s historic bakery building has been incredibly meaningful, and I’m taking my time restoring it because I want to honor its history while creating something special for our community.

A few fun facts about me:
🤍 I was born in New Orleans and we go back at least once a year.
🎂 My great-grandfather owned a bakery there and was known as “Mr. Wedding Cake.” I like to think my love of baking runs in the family!
🌸 I have a soft spot for flowers, gardening, and all things timeless and beautiful.
🍞 Sourdough and decorated sugar cookies are two of my favorite things to make.
🏡 I believe small-town businesses help make communities feel like home.

One of my favorite parts of today was hearing so many wonderful stories from people who remember this building through the years. Every memory shared reminds me just how special this little corner of town has always been.
I was also gifted this incredible old photograph of the bakery, and I absolutely treasure it. It is on display in the front window, just beneath the sign recognizing the businesses that came before Becker Bakeshop.
If you’re taking the self-guided tour around town, be sure to stop by and take a look. It’s a beautiful little glimpse into the history of this building and the community that has loved it for generations. 🤍
