my mama and a few friends joined forces to get this sweet pumpkin spice cake with a maple glaze for a few collective friends birthdays this month. 🩷 i love making bundt cakes, and i’m in love with their flavor choice.

i’m famous for my banana bread, but my pumpkin cakes are a close second.

my favorite of all was my mama’s birthday cake from a few months ago.

if you’ve ever tried to make an angel food cake, you’d know it surely ain’t the easiest, to put it lightly.

it’s a cake i will that always stick directly to recipe instructions for.

i remember it was late into the night when i was finishing this, - and funny enough - made a couple mistakes with. somehow, the batter was very forgiving and i had a couple tricks up my sleeve on how to save it.

and in the end, this was the best one i’ve ever made her, and by far the prettiest.

every year she asks for the same thing so i’ve been mastering angel food cakes since i was a kid, making them with my pops for her birthdays.

so thankful i can cook special meals and bake special desserts for my family to celebrate them.

so much love to my supporters and customers, and to my mama. 🩷

one of my favorite customers ordered a dozen cupcakes again. 🧁

this man never fails me, so i ought to reciprocate.

whenever he’s in town, he orders a single dozen (minimum), and i’m allowed to choose whatever flavor, style and decor i want which is always fun!

today i did a strawberry lemonade cupcake, with some dried flowers and pretty pearl sprinkles.

simple, elegant, and beautiful. 🩷

on the schedule the past couple days i had a funfetti cake and 20 cupcakes going out today, and tomorrow i have another dozen funfetti going out in the evening.

being a baker is a lot of work, but especially while juggling a sous chef job and (attempting to) maintain your sanity.

thursday night i was up until 4am baking, and last night i was up until 2am frosting and decorating.

but one thing’s for sure, it’s all so worth it.

i love the subtle rose look of these cupcakes. they bring me so much joy.

and if you ever find yourself craving something sweet, you know who to call. 🧁

this year was his favorite cake. 🎂 what an accomplishment

dark chocolate buttermilk cake with dark chocolate buttercream.

and when i say dark chocolate, i mean about 80% dark. not for the faint of heart, for sure.

one thing about my pops is he likes two things: dark chocolate and peppermint. there is no other options. but we made do. 😉 we love him the way he is.

she’s truly the love of my life, and this was the perfect way to show her.

i’ll also be including a single rose, my favorite childhood book and some heart candies.

i’ve always prided myself in loving differently, and deeper than anyone i’ve known.

love is so much apart of me. you can’t have me w/o it.

and being able to show that through the art of food is truly the most thrilling way i can express it.

with that in mind, i spent way too long crafting this extra spectacular birthday cake for my roomie. we had to celebrate big for his !!

layers of flavorful espresso cake with a vanilla bean pudding and caramel cream between each heavenly layer.

y’all shoulda seen his face when he tried it! he couldn’t be happier and neither can i. 🩷🦋

i’m so happy w how these cakes came out.

helping a mama celebrate her first baby shower!

she ordered the 8” cake, and i am giving her the bento box cake as a gift.

i started my business as a way to spread love, kindness and joy. today i am reminded of that. 🩷

a little more time on my part can change someone’s whole future. she will remember this day for years to come.

normally i keep my non-cakery related events private, but today i just have to share.

in a year i went from your everyday (good) cook to a full chef.

i have been studying culinary arts and have been absolutely THRIVING!

i never knew how much i could do for myself, and how far i could go.

i woulda never dreamed this for myself.

i was officially offered a chef position at Shoemaker’s.

i will be working under our executive chef that was the executive chef for THE WHITE HOUSE for 4 presidents!

can you believe that?!

he saw potential in ME!
