So, those who may be wondering almost a year later...

Our little bun turned out to be quite pink! Little Miss Abigail Leigh was born April 6th by emergency c-section. She's almost 4 months old and I can't stop kissing her...! I mean seriously, those cheeks!

Update!

Although my hiatus was going to be a temporary one, I've been lucky enough to be contacted for a few orders this past month. I hate turning you all away.

We learned in August that there is a bun (pun intended) in the oven! It was a bit of a surprise, as i have two cooked boy buns already - a middle school bun and an elementary aged bun - but hey! Sometimes buns are baked as a surprise! And who knows... Maybe this bun is finally a pink one!

That said, this closing is permanent. The page will stay open because I can't figure out how to keep my 200 cake pictures of i remove the page. I'm proud of those puppies!

Thank you, every single one of you, for believing in me. I taught myself how to decorate, and without you all, I never would have gotten past my first few cakes.

Once this little one is done and out, I'll update again! Much love, remember that cake keeps you warm for winter, and be safe

Ok, ya'll! My husband starts his new job Tuesday the 11th (eeeek!), and if you remember, two lucky folks will win a dozen fall flavored cupcakes! Plus, anyone who comments AND places an order through the 11th will get 20% or free delivery, whichever is higher :D

So, I wanted to share two things with you all. One was something terrible that became incredible, the other exciting as heck!

The first... I had two wedding cakes Saturday. The first was the enchanted cake. The second was a four tiered cake covered in hand made fall leaves that I had been working on for days.

In the course of delivery, the second cake slowly fell apart. I don't know why, but the second to the top tier was almost a total loss. I arrived, and was greeted by either the mother of the bride or of the groom. She looked at the cake and immediately began consoling me. Me! She told me it was still gorgeous and she would figure out a way to make it beautiful. Then she wrapped me in a hug (which brought more tears on my part) and wanted me to stay... she was worried about me driving because of how badly I was shaking. Kindness in the face of disaster is so very rare in this work. I never got her name, but I won't soon forget her. If she sees this, thank you! Your kindness was amazing.

Second... hubby starts his new job on the 11th! He is so awesome and so very deserves it. So, I'll be giving away two sets of one dozen fall flavored cupcakes of your choosing! Yay! The contest will start on the first and will run till the 11th. Details to come!
