Some classes simply fill your cup, and today’s class was certainly one of them. It was a wonderful afternoon of learning, laughter, fellowship, and gathering around the table—something I believe we all needed just a little.
We rarely have a gentleman join us for class, but when we do, it always makes the afternoon especially fun! Sweet Mr. Bob accompanied his lovely wife, and what a beautiful couple they are. They finish each other’s sentences, share so many interests, and genuinely enjoy learning new things and taking on new challenges together. From simply observing them, one could easily call them a “super couple.”
The men in my classes usually get picked on just a bit, and thankfully, they have always been such good sports! Mr. Bob handled a house full of ladies with a smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and the kindest spirit. He may not have grown up in the South, but he is most certainly a true Southern gentleman!
We also had a few retirees looking for new adventures and challenges, along with the mother and grandmother of one of my former preschool students. These beautiful ladies are people I had not really seen since I taught their sweet little fellow in preschool. Fast-forward to today, when I discovered that he is now in college—and shaving! Nothing will make you realize how quickly the years have passed quite like that!
What touched me most was the genuine interest and enthusiasm of this entire group. Everyone arrived greeting and talking with one another as though we had all grown up together. The atmosphere was relaxed, comfortable, and full of encouragement.
They were positive, eager to learn, and incredibly quick to pick up each new process. Once shown what to do, they required very little guidance. I have no doubt that this group is going to make some truly amazing bread!
I appreciate our local guests who joined us, as well as those who traveled a great distance to spend the afternoon with me. I am so thankful that you chose to invest your time—and, for some of you, travel many miles—to attend one of my classes. Your support means more to me than you know.
Congratulations to the newest group of bakers! Thank you for bringing your laughter, enthusiasm, and beautiful spirits into my home. Today was truly a wonderful day to gather. 🥯🥨🥖🍞🥐
