One of my first (and favorite) jobs as a teenager was at Kelly Family Farms Food Truck! It was there I had the pleasure of meeting our grillmaster, Granddaddy Larry Kelly! Recently I got to make a cake for his 60th diamond anniversary and so I thought, lets go BIG. Diamonds for decoration, with a classic cake decoration and a classic vanilla flavor brings a sparkle! You know what's better than regular cake? A TALL CAKE! Because that means more cake! Vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and some graham cracker sand! And because the cake was so tall, I tried something new and put a cake board in the middle so they could eat the top half in reasonably sized slices, then the bottom half! Definitely a trick for the future!

Pistol Pete is here to celebrate a graduation! One of the first transfers I've done, Pete was piped with buttercream face down, frozen, and then flipped face up on to a cake! And doesn't he look great? I was super impressed with how this turned out, and can't wait to see what else I can do with this new technique in the future!
