May is Celiac Disease Awareness Month š
For children with celiac disease, every meal, snack, and school activity can come with extra challenges. This autoimmune condition means their bodies canāt tolerate glutenāeven tiny amounts can make them sick and affect their growth and development.
Hereās how we can support kids with celiac disease:
š Be mindful of cross-contamination (shared utensils, surfaces, or snacks)
š Include safe, gluten-free options at parties and school events
š Teach kindnessāno child should feel ādifferentā because of their food needs
š Listen to and respect their health requirements
Awareness creates safer, more inclusive spaces where kids can thrive without worry.
One of the most rewarding parts of creating Little Loaf GF Kitchen has been the incredible community thatās grown around us. š
My goal has always been to spread awareness about celiac diseaseāto teach, to share, and to help others understand the daily challenges we face. And through that, I hope one day I can look back and feel truly proud of how far this journey has come.
Along the way, Iāve met some truly amazing people. Friends who have supported me since day one, and new friends whoāve shown up for us after hearing our story. And of course, my familyāespecially my mom, who has embraced this whole new way of life with so much love. š§”
It means everything to have people thinking of us in their everyday livesāsending a message when they spot gluten-free options at a restaurant, sharing when they find something safe at the store, or even offering to pick something up because they know itās not always easy for us to get. That kind of support is something I never take for granted.
And to those who go the extra mileābringing gluten-free options to parties, events, or even playdatesāthank you for making sure no one feels left out.
This journey hasnāt always been easy, but the love and support surrounding us make it more meaningful than I could ever fully put into words. Thank you for being part of it. š
Letās look out for one another and make every child feel supported. š
