In 1975, the founder of The Donut Haus (Dieter) opened a small donut shop in Estes Park, and it's been that way ever since. We never wanted to leave our little corner spot, and if it were up to the people who actually make this town what it is, we wouldn't have to.
Fifty years is a long time to fall in love with a place, and we've certainly fallen for this one, completely. We love each and every one of you. Those who show up for their donuts before the sun's even over the mountains. We love the regulars who turned a little gas station counter into their favorite stop of the day. We love the tourists who found us once on a family trip and made a point to come back every year after. We love our neighbors at Burger Stop, who've felt more like family than fellow tenants sharing a sign out front. We love this beautiful little town, sprinkle-covered dinosaur and all.
This week reminded us just how much that love goes both ways. So many of you have reached out with leads, ideas, and open doors, thank you. We don't have an answer yet on where we'll land, but we have some ideas.
But we know this: we're not leaving Estes Park. This town is too much a part of us, and we hope we've been at least a small part of it too.
Stay close. We'll tell you as soon as we know.
With much love,
The Donut Haus
