Hey Friends,

It has been 6 ½ weeks since the accident. I have been in NC staying with my daughter and her family since Mother's Day. I have been able to see the grandkids and spend time with them, which is one of my favorite things to do!

I have been able to attend end of year programs, watch gymnastics practice, go to church, take short walks and overall, have better stamina for daily activities. I am not taking ANY medication for pain and all of my external bruises are finally gone. Evenings are a bit more challenging. I can’t sit or stand for extended periods and I tire easily, which is driving me crazy! I won’t be able to work for several more weeks. I miss working with my families so much, but I know I need to take it easy for a while longer.

The Lord has been so good and always provides what we need, exactly when we need it. Please continue to pray with us for complete healing, our financial needs to be met while I am not working, and also for a vehicle.

I am in the process of reaching out and responding to friends and family who have been so gracious to check on me during all of this.

Thank you all again for the prayers, gift cards, financial contributions, cards, food and transportation during this time. It truly means more than you could imagine.

Two weeks home…
And seeing improvements every day!
I am no longer using the oxygen I was discharged with (I actually only used it for a few days). My oxygen levels continue to rise and stay in a healthier range and I am breathing much better overall.

I am still taking a few of the medications the hospital discharged me with, but am finishing those up soon. I only take 5mg Oxycodone before bed and no longer need it any other time of day. My doctor says once I run out of the hospital prescriptions, I should be able to switch to OTC pain meds, if needed.

I no longer need to use a transitional toilet and am showering and getting dressed without help. I am able to go up and down a few stairs unassisted and get in and out of the car without problems. I am able to take short walks (very short walks, like to the car or the doctor’s office, but walking none the less). I now have new glasses, and a new phone which still needs to get some kinks out, but, I am thankful that I can communicate and take calls again.

We continue to see God’s abundant provision and blessings daily! We’ve experienced: financial provision, rides to and from appointments, Pj’s with easier access that are very comfortable, a new purse filled with necessities, doctors helping above and beyond, meals brought, friends visiting and sending notes of encouragement…and so, so much more! Thank you for your continued prayers and support. It means more than we could ever say!

I still have several weeks of recovery ahead and we are still trying to figure out more permanent transportation, as the car we lost was our only vehicle. I miss my work very much, but I do realize that I need to take things slow.

I am working on getting back to all those who have reached out, but it is just taking me a little longer to respond. If you have not heard back from me, please know I will be reaching out soon.

Another Formula Recall!!! If you are using By Heart formula, it is advised that you stop using it immediately.

In early 2026, the FDA issued recalls for several infant formula products due to the risk of toxin contamination. The most significant recent events include a global recall of a2 Platinum Premium formula and the continuation of a major investigation into ByHeart brand formula.

a2 Platinum Premium Infant Formula (0-12 months): Recalled on May 2, 2026, due to the potential presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by Bacillus cereus bacteria.

This is so very true.

They don’t tell you this part of postpartum…

After you give birth, you’re left with a wound in your uterus the size of a dinner plate where your placenta was attached.

A dinner plate.

And yet, you’re expected to just get up, heal, function, and carry on with life like normal, while taking care of a newborn around the clock.

Postpartum recovery isn’t just “a few weeks of rest.” It’s major healing, both physically and mentally. Moms deserve so much more support, grace, and understanding during this season.

Here’s to every mom quietly surviving the hardest recovery of her life while still showing up for her baby.
