I’ve never read any of the Harry Potter books and I’ve never watched a Harry Potter movie (please don’t judge). The only thing I know about Harry Potter is that it was written by J.K. Rowling, that he’s played by Daniel Radcliffe, wears glasses, uses a wand, and has a lightning bolt on his forehead. So, when someone asked me for “Ravenclaw Harry Potter” cookies, I was way lost. Luckily for me, I have kids who love to read and were my personal consultants on this collection!

Hey hey hey, Merrrrrry Christmas! I am kiiiiiind of obsessed with these two sets of cookies. Better late than never, right?! Speaking of that, I actually made holiday cards for the first time in 6 years (if you know, you know), but… you guessed it: they’re going to be late. Can’t wait to show you! Stay tuned.

I got my first bad grade (D) in the 6th grade… it was in science. Biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy; you name it, I was bad at it all! I had to take 9th grade biology twice and I think the only reason I passed the second time (with Mrs. Otto) was because the person beside me let me copy on tests (please don’t judge me). In college I got one of my two required science credits by taking “The Physics of Light in Photography” and (duh) got an A. For the record I learned a lot in that class, but the science aspect was pretty far reaching to say the least! Soooo when I had not one, but TWO, people requesting space-themed cookies the same week, it was time to get my learn on! I’m happy to now report that I can name all 8 planets by both order and appearance! Thank you to both Karyn and DeAnna for unknowingly pushing me to push me into learning something new. Also, shout out to my boy Andrew our resident science wiz for his guidance. :)

A Hungry Caterpillar themed first birthday party?! YES PLEASE! I loved working on this set. I photographed Nicole’s wedding 11 years ago and later photographed her brother’s (Abby & David) wedding in 2018. Wellll… Abby and David had a baby and Nicole knew I made cookies; badaboom badabing… their wedding photographer came through in the clutch! 😀 Allllll of that to say I love that I get to continue creating art for people long after their weddings! Happy Birthday Joseph. 🥰

🐒🦁🦒🐯🌿 I love when someone gives me a theme or a concept and I just get to run wild with it (pun intended!). This was the first set I was fully in control of. As in, 100% custom! I first drew it on my iPad, imported to Adobe Illustrator, then made the cookie cutters on my fancy new 3D printer. This is perrrrfect for a self-aware control freak such as myself (I’m working on it, I swear!). Thank you Laura for asking me to do this. 👩🏻‍🍳🧡🍪 Happy First Birthday Wyatt!

This is certainly a Kentucky Derby for the books; one like none other before it. No guests inside. Protesters outside. First Saturday in September (rather than first Saturday in May). I still consider myself very new to Louisville… but if I’ve learned nothing else about this town it’s that the people of Louisville love all things Derby; it defines this city in so many ways! I love that people are still finding ways to celebrate; albeit from home. To my new Kentucky friends: I hope you’re winning money in an extravagant hat while sipping on a mint julep. And if you’re so lucky… eating a yummy sugar cookie!
