A Taste of Appalachia, A Day of Celebration

Join us Saturday, June 20th as we officially celebrate the Grand Opening of the Barefoot Bountifuls Farm Stand!

🕗 Farm Stand Open: 8 AM until dark (or sold out!)

We’re planning a day full of fresh baked goods, local collaboration, samples, prizes, and plenty of Appalachian hospitality.

Hey Friends, Happy Friday. I’ve got a bit of a sad update.

I’ve decided to keep the farm stand closed this weekend while I catch up on some much-needed work around here and at my parents and take care of some things that need my immediate attention.

Thank you all for your continued support, encouragement, and understanding. Your kindness means more than you know.

I’ll be back next week with fresh baked goods and updates from the farm. If you need goodies between now and then, orders are still open. Just message me! There are a handful of items out there today (6/5/26)

700+ Friends?!

That number is astonishing to me! Since we have so many new friends, I thought I’d take a moment to reintroduce us. 😊

My name is Kandie, I live in Lost Creek with my husband, Steve. I’ve always loved to bake and food is absolutely my love language. I may not be able to fix your problems but I can offer comfort food to get you through! ❤️

I started Barefoot Bountifuls almost a year and a half ago. I set up at some markets, took orders and saw a world opening up before me. Could this be a thing??

In July of last year, Steve was not feeling well and we headed to the emergency room thinking kidney stones. Boy were we wrong! He was a very, very, sick man and spent the next 5 months at UHC, during which time they did 9 (yes NINE!!) surgical procedures on him. (Please if you even suspect diverticulitis, do not let it go until you form an abscess and it perforates inside your abdomen!) needless to say this completely derailed Barefoot Bountifuls. We literally didn’t even have money for ingredients as we lost our only source of income. During that time, we (somehow!!) survived because of the love of friends and family and our community. I baked when I could but spent so much time at the hospital it was intermittent at best.

Steve did get to come home right before Christmas, he is completely healed now, which is amazing since no one thought he would make it home at all for a bit. He was able to go back work in February and life is SLOWLY getting back to normal. We are digging our way back out and it feels encouraging.

When he felt well enough, he went out and built my farmstand. Y’all don’t know how that hit me. For many reasons, but the fact that he was able was so big! Now I work Barefoot Bountifuls as much as I can. Starting to open the stand more than just weekends, pre orders, special orders (there’s no menu, you want something? Shoot me a message!) and even sell my cookies at our local convenience store!

Not one bit of this could be done without y’all. Not one! When I say you are making a real difference in our lives, I mean it from the bottom of my heart! I thank you and will forever try to do what is right by our community, including trying to keep things affordable for the families who make that up.

I know this was long. If you read it all, thank you again. I can’t wait to bake you something happy! 😊

Happy Thursday! Goodies are trickling onto the stand, friends. So far there are peanut butter cookies, peanut butter buttercream filled cookies, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate peanut butter mini cakes (with a little PB cup on top!) and the pepperoni rolls are headed out as well. Let’s see what else I get into today! As always; pre orders are bagged with your name on them!

Sorry we are running behind friends. It’s been a busy week of … well, life! I’ve got some peanut butter cookie 6 packs, peanut butter cream pies (peanut butter buttercream filled!) and a couple of packs of pepperoni rolls available this evening if anyone wants anything before tomorrow, just reach out. Otherwise the stand will be stocked in the morning early.
