M.I.J's Baked Goods Hi! I am Heath: The DIVA of Deliciousness, the Sultan of Sweets. I am the gay baker I AM the gay baker, The DIVA of Deliciousness, The Sultan of Sweets!!

I am Heath Tanner and I am starting up a from home bakery in hopes to build enough business to either cater desserts (baker for hire) or to start up and open my own bakery. M.I.J's is a name I came up with because I come from a long line of Ahhh-MAZING bakers (my predecessor were all super strong WOMEN) who passed their talent and love of baking on to me! So the initials are those of my mentors;

my great grandmother, grandmother, and mom- Myrtle, Irene, and Jo-Anne: hence the name M.I.J.'s Baked Goods! All photos are mine and are 100% from scratch recipes either of mine of family recipes from all those great women who gave me my love and talent for baking. I worked 25+ years in the restaurant industry starting when I was a teenager bussing tables and worked my way up to the management but spent many years waiting tables, tending bar, cooking and baking. Here M.I.J's Baked Goods I’ve baked up a batch of my newest creation: Black Forrest Cupcakes! Moist, chocolatey goodness where I cut out the middle and filled with a sweet boozey cherry compote replaced the scooped out cupcake and topped with a whipped cream topping and a sweet drunken cherry to top it all off. My guinea pigs LOVED them!

Happy Summer, Happy Pride🏳️‍🌈, Happy Me! I’m celebrating landing the job with MAC cosmetics! They were able to give me $1.50 more an hour, so I’ll get $16.50 plus commission! So I made this seafood stew with little neck clams, mussels, shrimp, lobster tail, cod fillet and corn on the cob, fennel, shallots, onions, garlic, celery, and a Thai lemongrass and basil broth. A fresh heirloom tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil and olive oil salad. For my cocktail it’s this delicious watermelon hibiscus vodka!
