Sourdough Starter Guide ⬇️
Don’t overthink sourdough — you can start your starter today with just flour + water 🥖
🧂 Basic ratio:
½ cup flour + ¼ cup filtered water
📅 Simple 7-Day Starter Plan:
Day 1:
Mix ½ cup flour + ¼ cup water in a clean glass jar.
Cover loosely and leave at room temperature for 24 hours.
Day 2:
Add ½ cup flour + ¼ cup water again.
Stir well and cover loosely.
No bubbles yet? That’s normal.
Days 3–6:
Discard half of the starter.
Feed with ½ cup flour + ¼ cup water.
Repeat once daily.
Day 7:
Your starter is ready when it:
✅ has lots of bubbles
✅ smells fresh and tangy
✅ doubles in 4–6 hours after feeding
⚠️ Tip:
If it doesn’t double by Day 7, keep feeding every 8–12 hours until active.
