Raised in a health centric household, the kitchen was the heart of my home. With a strong influence f
rom my mother, a professional dietitian, I developed an understanding in the importance of nutritious cuisine. In 2010 I moved to the staggering Sierra Nevada Mountains to partake in a humbling 6-month summer trail job experience. Working in the wilderness required long-lasting sustenance from nutrient dense foods. I discovered the importance of incorporating whole foods like nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, and copious amounts of H20 into my diet to feel content throughout each day. Nothing beats the healing trilogy of exercise, healthy food, and the great outdoors. After leaving the trail, I relocated to an epicenter of culture and food fusion, San Francisco. The transition to a new urban environment provided fresh influence, and a market to continue utilizing the skills I developed in the wilderness. Upon learning the associated allergic responses to gluten, I gained interest in the ever-growing line of gluten-free products. Every ingredient label listed gums, starches, and mostly refined flours – nothing with any health value. On my journey for truly healthy gluten-free bread I combined simple, whole ingredients, and created delicious gluten-free sourdough bread. The importance of healthy, whole, and enduring nourishment is baked into each loaf of YOUNG KOBRAS gluten-free bread to be sustainable for the body and the earth.
