Ahhhh!! Par-ee!! It was a full day on our private excursion today! And it was a record setting temperature day for Paris and for France as a whole. But we had a fantastic day with a visit to the newly restored Notre Dame Cathedral, a Bateaux Mouche cruise and the ever present stop at the Eiffel Tower! Just amazing travelers and an equaling amazing day!

A little ☔️ didn’t stops us from thoroughly enjoying a morning filled with lots of 😂 laughs during our tour of Buffalo! The ☘️ Irish 👮🏻‍♂️ Constable who boarded our motorcoach 🚍 had us in stitches‼️ The Darwin Martin House - Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece of the Prairie School style - was amazing. Our day was topped off at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo - home of the Original 🦬 Wings‼️ who knew those big ole animals could fly 🤣

Well, you would think we are on a river cruise in France as we experienced our second river transit from the Atlantic and up the Seine to Rouen, France. This is the place that Joan of Arc was burned at the stake and our gateway to Paris! And sailing on the river onboard Azamara Quest was truly remarkable! We witnessed the banks of the Seine along the way! Now for time to explore the home of Claude Monet in Giverny and also to visit the City of Light…Paris!

A touching day for us today as we visited Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery here along the coastline of Normandy. Of course, what took place here changed the world but at the cost of many lives. It was quite a moving day for sure. We stopped in the middle of the day for lunch at Omaha Beach featuring chicken with Norman sauce and of course, pommes frites finishing with crème brûlée. Two wonderful guides, Norman and Peter and a truly special day!

I’ve never seen so many wet people who were happy 🙃❣️ the Maid of the Mist sails right up to the face of the mighty Niagara Falls and even our ponchos couldn’t keep the water 💦 from finding its way into clothes 👖and shoes 👟 and 🧢 hats‼️ the it was off the Lewiston and a look back 🔙 in time. The area was an important ✋ stop for thousands on the Underground Railway. Niagara Falls, NY, marks the historic final leg of the Underground Railroad, where Harriet Tubman successfully guided freedom seekers to Canada.

Today, we called on the port of Saint Malo and enjoyed a private shore excursion to iconic Mont Saint-Michel! The Abby and Monastery here are the second most visited place in France after Paris! We enjoyed a beautiful day indeed! And some catch up photos of our fun cocktail party yesterday onboard Azamara Quest! Tomorrow, the port of Cherbourg and the famous Beaches of Normandy!

As we mentioned in our previous post, we are transiting two rivers on this sailing onboard Azamara Quest! That’s quite a feat for an ocean going vessel! This photo is of the bridge in the city of Bordeaux, taken as we sailed out to the Atlantic on the Garonne River! Photo credit goes to Bruce Baker as he captured the moment when the center of the bridge was raised, and of course closed to traffic,so that we could set sail! Just another amazing aspect of cruising with Azamara Cruises and TRIPS! Later in our voyage we will sail up the Seine River to the city of Rouen, France! Thank you Bruce for this awesome shot!

Wow! It’s already our third day and our first post from onboard the Azamara Quest in Bordeaux, France! We’ve been busy! A river cruise on the Garonne River, a walking tour of the city and a private shore excursion to St. Emilion which is one of the most important wine regions in Bordeaux with a delicious picnic and delicious wines!! It’s been a fantastic start to our cruise and off we go this evening as they open the bridge on the river and we sail into the Atlantic on our way to the island of Guernsey and then on to Normandy! This cruise transits 2 rivers on our journey…the Garonne and the Seine! Only with Azamara and with TRIPS!
