Botanica opened in 2017 as a home for seasonal, Southern California cooking, with a focus on the products of regenerative agriculture, sustainable seafood and responsible animal husbandry. We believe that cooking should be vibrant, exciting and produce-centric; that wine should be natural; and that hospitality should be nourishing. Our goal in the kitchen is to use beautiful local produce and thou

ghtfully sourced products to create food that is vibrant, exciting and nourishing. Our goal for our restaurant is to care for our community by creating a business that aims to respect, support, delight and nourish all those it impacts. Our coffee counter and bakery serve Canyon Coffee and house-made pastries and sweets. Our market sells natural wine, craft beer and zero-proof drinks, along with exceptional culinary goods from small, mostly California-based, women-owned businesses. We hope you’ll come visit our bright, lush, delicious little corner of Silver Lake! Botanica is owned by Heather Sperling & Emily fiffer, two former food writers/editors and lifelong cooks who opened their sustainability- and community-focused restaurant and market in 2017.

Did you know that, just up the boulevard, we have a Spanish-Californian tapas bar? It’s , a home for creative, seasonal tapas, Spanish natural wine, vermouth, sherry, and more! And just this week, we’re doing a fun giveaway: Follow on Instagram and send them a DM of a kiss, and you’ll be entered to win a Spanish-Californian pantry box, with goods from the Botanica market and from Besito! (We can ship nationally, so no need to be in LA to enter!)

Besito is a celebration of the spirit and flavors of Spain and the produce and creativity of California. Our tapas menu — from chef (formerly of Botanica!) — references Spanish cuisine while being rooted in seasonal cooking, West Coast products, and a LA sensibility. Our beverage program — a creation! — is all Spanish wine, vermouth, sherry, beer, and cider, poured by the glass, carafe, and porrón.

As with Botanica, we’re anchored in sustainable business practices: living wages for our team, health insurance for our full-time staff, a focus on sourcing from thoughtful and ecologically responsible producers, and a commitment to nourishing hospitality. 💋

Last night’s Dinner With Diaspora Spice Co., celebrating & ’s remarkable new cookbook ✨ made beautiful versions of dishes from the book; we poured fennel shrubs, fennel collins and haldi doodh at the bar; everyone went home with a spice tin (thanks to !); we raised money for ; and we wish we could do it all over again next weekend! Thank you, Sana and Asha! (We’re sold out of books, but the market is stocked with Diaspora’s exceptional spices!)
