a couple of weeks ago i put the end of a red onion under about an inch of soil. today these babies were waiting for me. i π’—π’†π’“π’š π’ˆπ’†π’π’•π’π’š separated them, making sure each little plant has its own roots, and then potted them.

a lot has been happening behind the scenes! first, the library has found its new home in this empty patch of earth on newland near meridian.

>>PLEASE NOTE: the library is no longer directly in front of my residence. please don’t disturb tenants at the library address!

over the next week i’ll be clearing & cleaning the area and installing shelving for starter food plants grown by the library as well as a separate space for neighbors to exchange seeds, plants and cuttings. i’m even working on a community board, and have some volunteers helping me translate into spanish.

in the meantime... summer squash, cantaloupe, cucumber, carrots, and habaneros have been doing their thing in my garden. as soon as the stand is done, they’ll be ready to go home with their new families.
