Did you know sugar cookies make the CUTEST party favors? 🎀🍪

I would not describe myself as a frilly person 😅

I'm not a pink-y, glitter loving person that is perfectly put together and made up every day. Most days I look like I rolled out of bed and went directly to the kitchen (not that I have ever actually done that 🤫🫠)

AND YET...

There is just something about these sparkly, over the top lambeth keeps that absolutely speaks to my soul. The crazy piping, the pound and a half of glitter, the ruffles... it's all so excessive and weirdly HEALING in some ways for me.
.. Like in a world that encourages us to be smaller, quieter, and take up less space, this cake is over here screaming "YOU DO YOU BOO BEAR".🎂

Too much to put on a cake? maybe....but i've decided not to question it 🤣

How are you feeling about your kids going back to school? Team Summer Forever, or team WOOHOO SCHOOLTIME!🎒

I can’t decide if I’m in complete denial that summer is almost over… or (not so) quietly celebrating the fact that I’ll soon have a few hours to myself to bake in peace. 🙌

I love spending summers with my kids watching them grow and become capable independent young people. . .
But like also is 10 uninterrupted minutes alone really too much to ask?! 😂

How many cookies do I need for my party?

I get asked this question all the time and unfortunately it depends on a few things

🎂 Having cake AND cookies?
I would aim for 1 per guest- with cake added in thats usually plenty

🍭Cookies as part of a dessert table
I would recommend about 80% of the guest list. WIth lots of different goodies its likely not everyone will grab a sugar cookie.

🍪Cookies flying solo?
Plan for 2-3 per guest. Someone will always be going back for another. Plus- you want to make sure you get a few!

When two of my favorite hobbies come together🪡

Over the years I've made dozen of quilts and other projects, but kids and bakery mean I don't sew nearly as much as I used to, but I make it a point to reserve one day a month for my sewing projects.

Today's project was an apron I've been wanting for years! 👩‍🍳I think it might be my favorite project yet- so now I'm off to the fabric store because I need at least 10 more.😆
