Dear Customers, Friends, and Families in our community

You may have already heard the news, but with a heavy heart, Christian and I will be permanently closing the bakery at the end of business on Sunday, November 3. The closure has nothing to do with the construction that has begun, but rather with Christian’s declining health combined with the fact that our lease has come up for renewal and we really aren’t able to commit to another 10 years at our location because of his health issues.

We thank all of you for your support these last 32 years. We have had 3 generations of customers, some of whom have been coming to us since the day we opened. Thank you for letting us be a part of your celebrations, holidays, and family events these many years. We are so grateful to all of you. We will miss you. We love you!

On another topic, we now have many amazing employees, some of whom you already know, who are now looking for work. Please reach out to the people you know to see if they are looking for amazing employees!! We love our employees and we are doing everything we can to help them through this difficult time.

There are a lot of differences between then and now. One thing that hasn't changed is we're still here making the bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and sandwiches that you love. Don't let a little fencing prevent you from coming in today!! See you soon!

Greetings, everyone and happy back to school season! You may have seen the fencing surrounding the shopping center this week (if you've been to the shopping center recently, you couldn't miss it!!!) This the beginning of a long-awaited upgrade to the shopping center and yes, it could definitely use it after all these years. We are still here, still making bread, pastries, and sandwiches to ease your cravings. Our hours are the same: Tuesday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. September also marks our 32nd anniversary here at Babette Bakery, 32 years of serving our community with delicious, fresh bakery products at a reasonable price. Don't let the fencing prevent you from visiting us.

Saludos a todos y ¡feliz regreso a clases! Es posible que hayas visto la cerca que rodea el centro comercial esta semana (si has estado en el centro comercial recientemente, ¡no te la puedes perder!). Este es el comienzo de una actualización muy esperada del centro comercial y sí, definitivamente podría beneficiarse de ella después de todos estos años. Todavía estamos aquí, todavía elaborando pan, pasteles y sándwiches para calmar tus antojos. Nuestro horario es el mismo: de martes a viernes de 6:30 a. m. a 6:00 p. m., sábados de 7:00 a. m. a 3:30 p. m. y domingos de 7:30 a. m. a 3:00 p. m. Septiembre también marca nuestro 32.º aniversario aquí en Babette Bakery, 32 años de servir a nuestra comunidad con productos de panadería deliciosos y frescos a un precio razonable. We will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to noon. Please place your order now. Ordering in advance gives you the benefit of having your items packed and ready when you pick up but you can also add other items when you come in. Best of all, you can avoid lines like this. We wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for letting us be a part of your celebration!

Special Holiday Hours Thanksgiving Day.
We will be open from 7 a.m. to noon on Thursday, November 24 for Thanksgiving. PLEASE place your orders ahead of time so you are sure to get what you need to celebrate the holiday with family and friends. You don’t want to be stuck in a line like this when you could be relaxing with family. When you place an order, we have it packed and ready for pick up with a separate door to avoid the line. And you can still add items on the day of. Order cut-off for Thanksgiving Day pick up is 3 p.m. on Wednesday, HOWEVER some items require more time. We are looking for a sales associate/sandwich maker that enjoys working with people and takes pride in his/her work. Babette Bakery is a busy bakery/café in central Long Beach that has been serving the community for nearly 30 years. We pride ourselves in our product quality and customer service and are seeking people to join our team who share those values. Weekend availability is required. Highly qualified candidates are:

**reliable and punctual

**able to work well as a team with co-workers

**able to communicate effectively

**eager to take initiative

**will have at least 2 years' experience in a high-volume food service setting

**2 years' cash handling experience

**Spanish-speaking is a plus

**sandwich-making or deli experience

Responsibilities include: greeting & serving customers; replenishing and maintaining an attractive display case; effectively demonstrating product knowledge to assist customers; maintaining a clean seating area; using a POS system to accurately register sales and handle transactions; answering telephones; taking customer orders; and sandwich making and preparation.
