Next Saturday, September 5th join us in celebrating the late Dolly Parton. We will have a day fit for the rhinestone queen herself. Bring us your favorite Dolly memory and let's cry, laugh and eat desserts, just like she would want. 🦋

Feel free to lay flowers at our Dolly fence, we will donate them to the nursing home after. 💐

Dolly Parton represented everything good this world and the south had to offer. She was a rhinestone in this world that can be so dull. She was one of my idols and inspirations for many years. So many of my friends and family have reached out to me, knowing that I'd be devastated and while yes I am, I'm also honored that so many people thought of me and the bakery when thinking of Dolly. Our first theme day was a Dolly Parton Day, we have her words painted on our fence, a prayer candle on the top shelf, she is deeply ingrained into the soul that is this bakery. My last day at my corporate job, coworkers/friends recorded a version of 9-5 to send me on my entrepreneurial way. I was never quiet about my love for Dolly. She was a badass business woman who cared about her community something fierce. Her love and joy was felt through her songs, her giving, her humor and her activism. She accepted all and had no room for hate in her heart. She changed the world, but never let it change her.

We will always love you Dolly. 🩷

The biggest thank you to everyone who came out to support Laney Stargel and her book The Threat of Hope! It was such a wonderful day! I didn’t get to snap photos of everyone who came in, but what I did get I posted for here to share.

Also, a giant thank you to the Bluegrass Baker for hosting and creating a wonderful drink just for the event.
