Hi Ciara! 👋
She worked at HOC for almost 7 years, and after a 4 year hiatus, we are so lucky to have her back for a few days a month!
You'll usually find her drinking an iced equality, but as the seasons change she can never resist a pumpkin chai🎃
When I’m she's not working most of you probably see her around with an army of children in tow😅; on a walk, at the park, at the library, or even just hanging out at HOC. Otherwise you'll find her at Faith Community for Sunday morning service, and Wednesday night Bible study. On Saturday mornings shes blasting 90s country, and making the best mocha freezes you've ever had! You might not realize this, but she's a true OG, been a customer since she was a baby and now she's working here again to afford her kids coffee shop addiction 😜Over the years of growing up and working at HOC, the best part of the job for her is all the customers who genuinely become like family 🫶

Hi Nevaeh hi! 👋
Navaeh has been with us for a little over a month, and we are loving every second of it! Her favorite drink is an iced Jenn, but with caramel instead of chocolate✨ since starting here, she has loved getting to learn new things about our friends, and coffee every single day. When she's in charge of the playlist it's a Midwest emo & divorced dad rock kinda day 🤘 Nevaeh is a spontaneous spirit, whether it's a new piercing , or a new hike, she's up for the adventure. You might not expect her to love fishing and exploring new lakes, but it's one of her favorite hobbies! (She's just listening to modern baseball while she does it😉)

Heyyyy Brennan! 👋🎣
You might recognize her because she worked for HOC from 2014-2022 and just rejoined us in March.
Her favorite drink right now is an extra dirty blended vanilla chai with chocolate in the cup. A perfect blend of “I’m ready for fall but the sun is still blazing!"
Outside of work she's likely to be decompressing with her girlfriend by the river- swimming, fishing, and enjoying nature. She also loves making ceramic oddities to give to friends. When she's in charge of the music we're likely playing 90s Country Western or 70s Acid Rock.
Brennan is full of surprises, many people don't know that she volunteers her time with Omega Nu- a women’s charity organization- and just served a term as President.
When I asked her what the most fun part of the job is she said "You guys! Thats why I wanted to come back! I love making drinks and seeing what flavors work together- but I also love hearing where you guys went on vacation, what you did with your family last night, and what’s on the horizon for you next!

Everyone say hi to Aliyyah!
She joined our team about 2 months ago and we are loving every second of it! Her favorite drink is a cold brew with brown sugar cinnamon syrup, and a splash of soy milk. A little sweet, a lot of energy just like her! So far the best part of the job for Aliyyah is getting to connect with so many new people every day in a meaningful way. When she's off the clock she's thrifting or reading. Ask her how many library cards she's got 😉. When she's in charge of the playlist it's classic R&B and folk all day long. We're always blasting the music, because many people would be surprised to know she's worn hearing aids since she was 12! Come in and chat, she'd love to know what you're reading right now 📚✨

Hi friends! 🫶 there's been a lot of new faces on both sides of the counter recently so it's time for my favorite series: meet your barista!
First up, a little about me, my name is Sami and I have owned house of coffees for a little over 8 years now. But this place has been a home to me for my entire life. I have been honored to be a part of this shops story, and I'm lucky to be the steward of such an important community spot. In fact, I think my absolute favorite part of the job is being a cornerstone to our community and connecting people with resources and friends.
If I had to pick I think my favorite we make is a blended Jenn or a summer spritz...but most mornings I'm drinking a honey latte. Every morning is bringing a different playlist, but I'm a big fan of folk, old country, and Irish rebel music so you never know what you're going to get. When I'm not here I love spending time outside/ road tripping with my partner. We are stopping at every thrift store & estate sale we see and looking for anything weird and old to collect. Even though I don't get out very often, people are surprised to learn I love exploring tidepools and metal detecting. Stay tuned this week to meet the rest of our team, they are the ones that keep this ship afloat!

A good news update! After a successful surgery Killua is at home recovering. Thank you so all so much for your continued community support. 🐱🩷

We all know and love our former barista BreAnne 🫶 currently her cat is very sick and needs emergency vet care. As we all know that can be devastating! If you are able to donate to her go fund me to help get her baby the care he needs please do 🐱🩷

The vets found an obstruction in his intestine and he will get surgery later today. We are so thankful for your continued support. To be a part of this community caring for each other is a really beautiful thing! 🩷
