We’ve been seeing the heartbreaking posts about a local boarding facility and the loss of a dog who escaped their care while their owners were on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe. What should have been a beautiful, unforgettable experience for that family has ended in tragedy, and my heart breaks for them 💔
🩵This is exactly why I opened Elite Animal Care
Our pets aren’t “just pets” to us. They’re our babies, our family, and pieces of our hearts. After working in boarding, grooming, shelters, and veterinary settings, I saw firsthand how much stress different environments could place on animals. I knew there had to be a better way.
I wanted to create a place where owners could truly have peace of mind while they were away. A place where pets could receive individualized attention, where medical needs wouldn’t be overlooked, where senior pets could sleep comfortably in bed instead of spending the night in a kennel or crate, and where even pets with complicated medical routines could receive the care they needed.
I saw the need for neurological patients who require anticonvulsants every 6–8 hours. I saw the need for senior pets who deserve comfort and companionship. I saw the need for owners who wanted their pets to have a little vacation of their own while they enjoyed theirs.
💝I also learned how much it means to owners to receive photos and videos throughout their pets’ stays. Being able to see their babies happy, comfortable, and loved makes being away just a little easier. That’s why we invest in cameras, GPS collars, and more!
Over the years, I’ve been trusted with some pretty incredible stays, including:
✈️ Two weeks of boarding while a family attended a wedding in India.
✈️ A week and a half while owners traveled to Germany for a marathon and Oktoberfest.
✈️ Two weeks of medical boarding while a couple celebrated their honeymoon in Switzerland.
✈️ A week and a half of boarding while an owner traveled to Mexico for work.
✈️At least a month of boarding for a solider being stationed in Hawaii
✈️We boarded a cat and dog after a families house fire
✈️A three month stay for a big family move for two dogs and two cats.
It isn’t just about vacations.
I care for pets while their moms recover after delivering babies. I help families while they heal from surgeries. I welcome pets when life gets overwhelming and their owners simply need a little extra help or a much-needed break.
Life happens. And sometimes, loving our pets means finding someone we can trust to care for them when we can’t be there ourselves.
