After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision that The Art of Rising Bakery will be coming to an end at the start of the new year. ❤️
This is definitely not an easy decision. What started as something I loved doing grew into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. I’ve met so many wonderful people, gotten to be part of so many special moments, and created more cakes, cookies, and treats than I could ever count.
But somewhere along the way, baking became less of a hobby and more of a second full-time job. Between working full-time, being a mom, coaching, and trying to be present for my family, I’ve realized that I’m constantly giving pieces of my time away, and I don’t have much left for myself or the people I love most.
As much as I love creating, I’ve reached a point where I need to choose time over things, family over orders, and being present over being busy.
I also want to be honest about another part of this decision: owning a business can be incredibly difficult. People sometimes forget that there is a real person behind the business, a person with responsibilities, feelings, limits, and a life outside of the orders they place. The pressure, expectations, and unkindness that can come with running a business have taken a toll on me, and I’ve realized that I can’t continue sacrificing my peace and well-being to keep up with it.
So, after the new year, I’ll be stepping away from custom baking and closing The Art of Rising Bakery.
I will, of course, be honoring all orders that have already been booked and confirmed. I’ll also be taking only a limited number of additional orders through the end of the year, and I’ll share more information soon.
I’m incredibly grateful to every person who has ever placed an order, recommended me to a friend, shared a post, trusted me with a birthday, wedding, baby shower, holiday, or simply let me make something sweet for you. You helped make this little dream something real, and I will always be thankful for that.
This isn’t goodbye to baking forever. It’s just goodbye to baking as a business.
