Bittersweet announce... if you're apart of our newsletter, you received the news yesterday.
Most of you know about our temporary closure almost 3 years ago, and that we recently reopened retail last Labor Day on a modified schedule of Friday-Sunday. Since reopening, things have been going great in the store. We received an immense amount of love and support upon our return.
As our kids get older, as parents we think of the best way to provide for them and give them better futures and lives than we had. Being that we are a multicultural family, we are going to have them experience more of their other culture outside of the US. We have decided to move to France to be able to provide them with this opportunity. They will be close to family, friends, and be able to travel and experience more of the world.
This was a difficult decision to make because it would mean closing the store, and saying goodbye for now to close friends, family, and relationships we have built since we’ve been here.
However, this is not a forever goodbye. Just because we are not physically here doesn’t mean we’ll seize to exist. We still plan on keeping our IG active and document the transitional experience since most of you have literally watched our kids grow up. There’s also potential to open our business in France!
Important Dates
The last operating day at Mo & Jay’s will be Saturday, April 18th. That same day will be our going-away party at the bakery between 10am and 3pm. Please stop by, if you wish, to say goodbye and see us before we go. There will be complementary cupcakes and pastries as well as other items for purchase.
This weekend will operate as regular hours. This does mean that unfortunately we will not be at the beloved farmer’s market this year. Stock up on our goods while you can these last two weekends!
We’re very fortunate that through our business and hard work, we are able to do this as a family. So while it may feel like a disappointment, know something positive is coming from our closure.
We again thank you for your continued support.
Love,
Mo, Jay, Charlie, and Olive
