Our white chocolate coco cookie, the Coco Lena, is just as sweet as D. Lena Richard. Mrs. Richard (1892-1950) is the first African American woman to host her own cooking show. She is the author of a cookbook, owned restaurants, opened a culinary school for young black men and women, and started a frozen food business that shipped full-cooked frozen meals across the country.

Soft, chewy cookies sweetened with white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts will definitely hit the (cookie) spot.

This cookie was named in honor of James Hemings (1765–1801). This extraordinary chef inspired the name of our Mac n' Hemings cookie. James Hemings (half-sibling of Presidents Jefferson's wife Martha) is known as the first American (right, not just African American) to be trained in France as a chef and introducing Mac and cheese to the United States (get it Mac and cheese and Macadamia?!?). When Hemings was 19 years old, Thomas Jefferson took him to France, where he studied the French language and studies under several renowned chefs. When in France he learned to cook pasta and cheese dish, that we have now come to know as macaroni and cheese. Hemings spoke French and earned his freedom in 1796.

Our Confetti cookies, the Happy Herc Day Cookie, named in honor of Hercules Posey. This extraordinary chef inspired the name of our Birthday Cake Cookie. Hercules Posey. "in the memoirs of Martha Washington's grandson, G.W.P. Custis, Hercules was recalled as "a celebrated artiste ... as highly accomplished a proficient in the culinary art as could be found in the United States." The cook was given the privilege of selling the extra food from the Philadelphia kitchen which, by Custis's estimate, earned him nearly $200 a year, the annual salary of a hired cook. According to Custis, Hercules was a dapper dresser and was given freedom to walk about in the city. Our Snickerdoodle cookie was named in honor of Mariya Russell (1989-). This African American Chef inspired the name for our snickerdoodle cookie, RussellDoodle. Mariya Russell is the first African American woman to receive a Michelin Star (the ultimate badge of honor for chefs) in 2019 while working as a chef at Kumika and Kikko. The GWC (our peanut better) cookie was named in honor of George Washington Carver (1864-1943). Dr. Carver's work on peanuts (as well as sweet potatoes), made him a no-brainer honoree for our peanut butter cookie, the GWC. Dr. Carver was an agriculturalist and inventor who encouraged the use of crops outside of cotton, worked to improve soil depletion after multiple cycles, and worked with poor farmers to plant crops like sweet potatoes and peanuts to improve their quality of life. Thus, he published 44 bulletins with 105 peanut recipes.

Is there a such thing as too much chocolate? No way! Our Deuce Scoop cookie is packed with semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips, a cookie for chocolate lovers only!

This cookie was named in honor of Alfred Cralle (crawl-ee). This inventor and businessman inspired the name of our double chocolate cookie Deuce Scoops. Alfred Cralle is known for his Ice Cream Mold and Disher invention, which is an ice cream scoop with a built-in scraper. His invention serves as the template for the ice cream scoops we use today. Furthermore, he served as an assistant manager for the Afro-American Financial, Accumulating, Merchandise, and Business Association in Pittsburgh.

Our sweet, sweet sugar cookies, the 'Rill' Sugar Cookie, is named to honor of Norbert Rillieux (Real-E-O; 1806-1894). Norbert Rillieus's work on creating a safer, cheaper, and more efficient way of evaporating sugar cane made him the perfect honoree for our sugar cookie, The Rill Sugar Cookie. Mr. Rillieux was a chemist and an engineer educated in France. He is most known for his multiple-effect Evaporator invention, which used vapors from boiling sugar cane syrup to produce sugar crystals with minimal spillage. His evaporation process continues to the foundation of modern evaporation process.

Our Daly Spice (Oatmeal Cookie) is named to honor of Marie Maynard Daly (1921-2003). The Daly spice cookie was named after Dr. Daly who is the first African American woman to receive a Ph.D. in chemistry. She studied sugars, cholesterol, and proteins. Specifically, her research was centered around the effects of cholesterol on the heart, sugars the health of arteries, and hypertension on the circulatory system. Additionally, Dr. Daly developed serval programs to increase the pipeline of students in marginalized populations into medical school and STEM graduate programs. FYI-oatmeal has been shown to reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure!

Our Chocolate Chip cookie is named to honor Wallace “Wally” Amos (1936-). Is the name inspiration for The Wally and Nutty Wally. Mr. Amos received his start working as William Morris's first African American talent agent working with musicians like Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and Diana Ross. In 1975 with a loan from Helen Reddy and Marvin Gaye, Mr. Amos open the first Famous Amos cookie store in Los Angeles, CA. He has also authored over 10 books and serves as a motivational speaker.
