This mama calls her babygirl on the way “the cherry on top” of their family. And I couldn’t love that anymore 🥹🍒

Fun fact: a few years ago, I captured Allisa’s first son’s first birthday photos on the beach. Then we both had baby boys just days apart a few years later. Then we found out we went to the same college and received the same exact degree & a bunch of other synchronicities later. (+ worked together on some creative projects 🧀) and now she has become a photographer herself.
I love this community so much because it’s all about helping each other. Inspiring each other. Learning from each other. And creating friendships from photos. I may not have coworkers, but boy am I fulfilled through the relationships this career has brought me! Thankful 😍

My favorite shot of this shoot goes to this first photo. I couldn’t have planned this posing if I tried. This is the magic of stepping back, taking a breath, and seeing what already exists right in front of you.

We tend to bring our kids into our environments for photo shoots, when sometimes the real magic happens when we step into theirs. Allisa had a vision of a vintage ice cream shop vibe and I couldn’t think of a better spot for kids to be themselves!

This session wasn’t overly planned. We went with the flow from start to finish. And there was no right or wrong. Everyone was happy to be there. And let’s be honest you can’t take yourself too seriously while licking ice cream ;)

That was the secret sauce. Waiting for the in-between moments. When the laughter hits. When the sticky fingers smudge their clothes. The spontaneous belly hugs. The genuine smiles.

My clients constantly remind me that they bring so much of the magic themselves. They come with ideas, memories, traditions, and pieces of their story that turn a photo session into something uniquely theirs. I just get the privilege of helping bring it to life. ❤️🍦📸

In fact… this IS her First Rodeo 🐴🐎🤠 Fun fact: her mom asked if she can bring this rocking horse that was made by her great grandfather decades ago. She even fixed it up and added some new tail hair. How perfect?! I love when clients personalize the shoot with nostalgic pieces!
