The short version of this update: At this time I am no longer accepting any new orders. I actually haven’t been for the last couple of weeks so if I ghosted you, I apologize. I have been under the weather (but feeling much better now).
First, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their celebrations. Getting to be a tiny part of your big moments through my art and skill has been an incredible privilege. I’m grateful for everyone’s support this last 6, almost 7, years.
After a lot of reflection, I have made the tough decision to stop taking any new cookie orders completely. Probably not forever, but for now.
When I first started, creating custom sets and preorders brought me so much fulfillment. Lately, though, the joy and passion that drove this business aren’t there anymore. Custom cookies take an immense amount of my time, energy, and mental space. I thought taking less orders was the answer, but I have reached a point where I have to step back entirely. It does not mean I’m done forever… but I am for now.
Part of what has made this decision for me is the rise of AI designs for “inspiration”. AI can create stunning digital pictures, but cannot truly reflect baking mediums. The hyper intricate details and perfection is simply not attainable as a baker. It’s taken a huge toll on my love for the craft and managing realistic expectations of customers.
There’s been a large influx of new home bakers so be sure to support these bakers! Please also don’t use AI as your inspiration in contacting them.
Any orders on my calendar and confirmed will, of course, be fulfilled with the same care and love as always. I am closed to any new requests. ❤️
