Back from social media hiatus with possibly my ugliest creation. 😂
This was my first time making these sourdough brioche glazed donuts and they are SO good! Slightly crispy on the outside and sooo yummy and chewy on the inside. I have plans for making them prettier, don’t worry. 😉 I’m considering adding these to my porch pickup rotation once market season ends- let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in!

Hi everyone!

I’m on a break from the farmers market during the month of August as we travel to see family, so I thought I’d take this as an opportunity to introduce myself and my family to you. ☺️

I’m Kyla- owner of Honey & Leaven, which is really just a little business venture to try to bring extra income home for our growing family. I love the Lord, baking/cooking, reading, and spending time with my husband and son. I don’t have too much time for hobbies at the moment, but I’m also trying to learn to sew! My husband, Jon, has been an officer for KCPD for almost 2 years, and our son, Elliot, turns 2 here in a couple of weeks. 2024 was a busy year for us! 😂 We get to meet our second son at the end of this November, and Jon and I are SO excited (Elliot will be excited eventually lol). We moved into our 105 year old house in Excelsior Springs at the end of last year, and are loving turning it into the home that our kiddos will grow up in.

Happy 4th everyone!! My garland has since passed lol, but I’m here until 1pm at Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers' Market with plain and cheese loaves, brown butter chocolate chip cookies, and apple pie scones. The parade starts at 10, so come and join the festivities! 🎆🗽🇺🇸
