Every May, without fail. 🍎
Sound on — this one’s worth it. 🔊

My boys’ teachers have come to expect this little apple note cookie every year, and honestly, so have I.

From the metallic airbrushed finish to the ruffled leaves piped with a tipless bag — every detail is made with teachers in mind. 💌

If your kids have a teacher who showed up for them this year, this one’s for them 🤍

Quick leaf tip:
Stiff icing + a sharp V-cut bag for those ruffled edges. Have fun with it. 🍎

When I moved to Lexington, I found myself constantly inspired by the rich history surrounding me — especially the Minuteman statue.

A life-size bronze figure of Captain John Parker, standing his ground on April 19, 1775, leading the Lexington militia at the very start of the American Revolution.

This year marks 251 years since that moment — since he famously told his men: “Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”

To this day, no one knows who fired the shot heard ‘round the world. But what followed changed everything.

Every year this little town of mine, brings it back to life — pre-dawn reenactments, a parade, pancake breakfasts… it’s one of those things you just have to experience.

Have you ever been to Lexington for Patriots’ Day?

Lucky clover sprinkles… but make them homemade 🍀

Somehow between traveling, jet lag, and general life chaos I completely lost track of St. Patrick’s Day — which in the Boston area is basically a major holiday 😅

So obviously the only reasonable response was to make my own lucky clover sprinkles.

Just a stencil, royal icing, and a very satisfying peel… and suddenly you’ve got tiny clovers ready to decorate everything.

Honestly the peel might be my favorite part.

Would you actually make your own sprinkles… or just eat them straight off the tray? 👀

We made a Christmas tree… and this one has a little TV history behind it. 🎄✨

So many of you messaged me asking about our Christmas trees — and the truth is, we have a few.
One in our formal room that’s entirely mine… and another we decorate together as a family, filled with baubles we’ve collected over the years.

This edible Christmas tree is made from cake moss, wrapped around a fondant-covered cone with twinkling lights — and yes, it’s super easy.

This is the same cake moss technique Hemu used to create our tree in Episode 1 of Gingerbread Land — and it quickly became one of my favorite ways to build big holiday moments without stress.

I originally learned this cake moss recipe from my friend Huiwen and I’m so grateful — it’s a technique I come back to again and again for large gingerbread builds.

But the best part?
 Making it together.

Big sprinkles. Loud laughs. Dancing to Christmas carols.
(And yes… this is exactly why this kid won’t be decorating the real tree 😅)
