Just a little reminder from the person behind Simply Sweets 🤍
Please don’t be rude or upset with me when I tell you I’ve reached my cutoff for the weekend. I promise I’m not trying to turn anyone away, and saying “no” is actually something I have a VERY hard time doing. But I’m learning that I have to know my limits.
I’m currently running two businesses, I’m a mom with a middle schooler I take to and from school every day, and somewhere in between all of that, I’m also trying to have a personal life and take care of myself.
I no longer work past a certain time on Saturdays, and I take Sundays to spend with the people I love.
Those boundaries are something I’ve had to put in place after years of working myself into the ground.
Here’s a perfect example: I originally had 6 custom cakes booked for this weekend. After I posted some specials/extras, I now have 17 cakes to make in TWO DAYS. 😳😂
And yes, I know someone is going to say, “Well, why post specials if you’re already booked?”
Because I’m also a mom who has bills to pay and a child to take care of. This is my job. If I have the ability to make a few extra things and bring in extra income, of course I’m going to do that.
But that doesn’t mean I can take an unlimited number of custom orders.
I am one person. One baker. One mom. One set of hands. ❤️
I will always do my best to accommodate everyone I can, and I am incredibly thankful that so many of you choose me to be a small part of your birthdays, weddings, celebrations, and special moments.
But when I tell you I’m booked or that I’ve reached my cutoff, please understand that I genuinely mean it. Please don’t be rude, make me feel guilty, or question why I’m still offering extras or specials.
I know my limits—even if I’m still learning how to say no when I reach them. 😂
Your support means more to me than you know. I just ask for a little understanding and kindness in return. 🤍
