My Mama Hazel’s signature dessert was what we called “cheesecake pie” (real name: no bake cheesecake). For years, every time we came to town she had one ready for us. Sometimes we would want it, sometimes we wouldn’t, but we always took it because we knew the day would come where there would be no more pies.
She stopped making them about 3-5 years ago. I know if I had asked her to make it, she would have been up wobbling around to make one for me, but I never asked her.
Yesterday, I wanted one. So on the anniversary of her death, I made my first attempt at making it (I made mini ones so we could limit our calorie consumption lol).
Baby!!!!! These were so good. I had a little piece of Mama Hazel with me yesterday.
