Hi friends! Well, here we are. We hope everyone has stayed relatively healthy and happy, all things considered, the past year or so.

Dreams are funny things. When we started Salty & Baked in 2016, we had a dream to bring delicious, custom baked goods to Lewisburg using a delivery model. We hustled and pushed ourselves, trying to get to a point where we could find a small storefront to open a store and make baking a full-time thing.

Enter March 2020. I won’t belabor the details, as we all lived through (and are still living through) a collective, terrible experience together. Like many, our personal priorities became quite apparent once the hustle of pre-pandemic life came to a screeching halt. Like many, we felt the pull towards a simpler, less busy day-to-day, where we could focus on our families and on ourselves.

The culture of caring and kindness that was born out of our little business was because of you, friends. Every time you ordered a treat for a friend, for a coworker, for a classmate, for a loved one, or for yourself, it honest-to-goodness made us filled with so, so much joy. Witnessing you express the love you hold and put that good energy out into the universe was truly the best part of Salty & Baked. The baking was pretty great, too!

Since I tend to ramble, I’ll come out and say it: we are closing down Salty & Baked, for good. We thought maybe there was a slim chance that we could resurrect it at some point this year, but it feels like it’s just dragging on and it’s time. It’s time to start a new chapter. We're looking to sell some items (equipment and paper products) in the coming weeks, so if you're a baker, or want to get into opening a bakery, send us an email or message and we can provide a list of what we're looking to sell.

We'll carry the memories of our business with us forever. Thank you so much for all your support over the years! ✌🏻❤️💞

Hi everyone! My goodness, it’s been awhile. We wanted to announce that we will be shutting down for the remainder of 2020 and into 2021. Given current circumstances, we need to take time to care for ourselves and our families and assess our priorities and plans for Salty & Baked. We don’t know what the future will hold, but we will make an announcement in early 2021 as to our final plans. This year especially, it has been a true joy to witness your loving acts as you expressed care, kindness, and gratefulness towards each other and I thank you for including us in those moments. It is truly my privilege to bake for you.

Hi everyone! We've recently had to make some changes to our menu and our ordering process due to... :::gestures at world:::. We are still baking and delivering goodies, but have disabled online ordering and are limiting deliveries to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only with orders needing to be placed by the Wednesday before the requested delivery weekend. We appreciate your understanding as we work through everything. ❤️

This Mocha Chocolate Cake is available at Selin's Grove Brewing Co. starting today! This cake is a chocolate cake with mocha buttercream and topped with a dark chocolate ganache. ☕️🍫🤤 SGB just started their extended hours and will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! 😃🙌🏻 Get thee (with your mask!) to the pub!! 🍺

Hi friends! The pandemic has changed so much. Due to COVID-19, we find ourselves without a commercial kitchen in which to make our pretzels and have paused this production line. We moved out of the kitchen a couple of weeks ago with our trusty mixer. 😢 This could be temporary but for now we have approximately 11 frozen pretzels nuggets (kits for $20/each) up for grabs. Sunshine, in cake form! 🌞🍋 This lemon cake is available at Selin’s Grove Brewery TODAY. Order a slice online (head over to their handle for ordering instructions) for pick up or stop by the pub for some beer and food on their lovely patio! This cake is 3 layers of tangy lemon cake filled and frosted with a rich lemon cream cheese buttercream and topped with homemade candied lemon zest. Enjoy! 🍻🍰🍋❤️

The last total amount raised last weekend that I saw for the Bakers Against Racism bake sale was $1.6 million, which is astonishing and inspiring. Thank you to everyone who supported our small part in this movement!

"Bakers Against Racism is just one recent example of a modern and powerful grassroots movement fronted by pastry chefs who are reimagining the bake sale as a vehicle to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for political causes. “Bake sales are a form of protest,” says NYC-based pastry chef Natasha Pickowicz. “They are organizational frameworks that can be used to support or enforce certain values and movements.”"

Bakers Against Racism and other groups of pastry chefs are reimagining the bake sale as a vehicle to raise money for political causes.
