G’mornin, fam. It’s Chad here. Jen doesn’t know that I’m writing this post, or at least not yet. But I’m going to ask for your help with that in just a moment.
You see, for her whole life, Jen has always been the one to sacrifice for others. And she doesn’t think twice about it. If she can help someone reach their full potential, she’s all in, even if that means putting her aspirations aside. Fun fact, she turned down a lucrative opportunity so that we could build Flavor Mutt into what it is today. She’s my ride or die, and I think we’re all eating a little better because of her decision.
Which is why today is her day. We’ve closed for the day so that she can attend the Lewisburg Literary Festival, representing herself as the gifted and talented writer she’s become over many, many years of hard work. She has spent decades, quietly building her words, and now has officially launched herself as a professional author. Another fun fact, she signed her first book deal earlier this year with an awesome WV based publisher, (Heathen Editions) that will be coming out this fall. Yeah, big stuff!
So here’s that part where I need your help. Let’s ALL support HER dream today. Go pay her a visit at her author table, pickup one of her books, follow her on social media (Jennifer Jones), or just drop something positive in the comments. It’s the least we can do to show our love for such a selfless and beautiful human, who always looks out for us day after day.
And if you’re just looking for the breads and sweets, we got you. While the shop is closed today, you can still find our pastries at A New Chapter and a fresh bread drop at Swift Level Fine Meats. It’s the last of our bakes until after the WV State Fair, so enjoy and we’ll see you on the other side of our summer vacation!
