Remember those tiny little chicks we had back in April? 🐣 They’re growing up and they’re officially laying eggs! 🥚❤️

So many of you have been asking about eggs, and truthfully, we haven’t had any extras to sell. I bake with the eggs we get, and we’re lucky if we have a few left for breakfast!

The summer heat also brings out the broody chickens. A broody hen basically goes through a little chicken “hen-o-pause” 😂 She stops laying and spends her days sitting on eggs, trying to hatch them…only we don’t want any more babies right now! 😆

A broody hen can take up to 6 weeks off from laying, and currently we have FIVE broody girls. 🤦‍♀️

BUT…our new babies are growing up! 🥰 They’ve started laying, which means we should finally start having some extra eggs available to sell!

Thank you for being so patient and for always asking about our farm eggs. We’re excited to hopefully have some for you soon! 🥚🐔💕

A Little Bakehouse Update 🥖🍪🍂

This week, Oxford starts school, which means I’m headed back to work! It’s been such a wonderful summer, and I’m so grateful for all of your support. ❤️ But I have to admit, I’m also ready for cooler baking days and cozy fall weekends!

Because of the back-to-school craziness, there will be no preorders available this week.

But don’t worry, we’re still baking! Our new Sunday Bakestand day starts this Sunday, August 30th at 10am! 🎉

We’ll have sourdough loaves, cookies, scones, and plenty of other yummy treats. 🥰

I’m excited to see you all Sunday and kick off our fall Bakestand season! 🍂🤎

Thank you SO much for coming out in the rain today! ☔️ It was so nice getting to chat with you during the breaks in the rain, and it was especially wonderful to see some new faces!

We would have completely sold out, but I had a few things tucked inside and an order was left behind, so tomorrow we're going to have a Pay What You Can Day! 🥰

🍪 3 boxes of Campfire Cookies (they are so yummy slightly warmed up)
🍞 1 box of Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread (so soft and moist)

Happy Bakestand Eve! 😆🥰 I’m sorry this is getting out later than usual, I’ve been busy baking ALL day and I’m still at it! Currently getting ready to ice scones. ❤️

Tomorrow we’ll have some goodies in the stand:

🍪 Chocolate Chip & Walnut Zucchini Bread Slices (a request)
🤍 Welsh Cakes
🫐 Blueberry Lemon Scones

And speaking of those discounted loaves… I truly cannot understand why this has happened twice now, but my fermentation was off again. 🤦‍♀️ They’re still delicious, just not quite up to my usual Bakehouse standards, so I’d rather pass the savings along than waste good bread!

I am soooo grateful for all the orders this week! Truly. ❤️ I accepted 5 extra orders after 8 PM, but I really do have to cut it off now. 😆 I’m so sorry!

We’ll have extras at the Bakestand Saturday... a couple packages of English muffins, scones, a few classic loaves, plus campfire cookies welshcakes, and more zucchini bread (a request)!

Thank you all SO much for keeping me baking! 🤎 This last Saturday of the season is going to be a good one!

This is a big one around here… our LAST Saturday Bakestand of the season!

And if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, this is definitely the week to pre-order it!

This coming Saturday is our LAST Saturday Bakestand of the season, and we’d love to see you!
