WE’RE BACK!

After a much-needed break to spend time with our family, we’re back in the kitchen this week and ready to bake more sourdough bread!

This week, we’re bringing back some favorites and adding something new to the preorder menu. We have two focaccia options this time, one savory and one sweet!

It’s soup season! 🥣

While I don’t have bread bowls at the bakestand this week, I do have a big pot of chicken and dumpling soup simmering away.

I used to think homemade chicken and dumplings was one of those recipes that was too much work to bother with, but I was wrong. It’s actually incredibly easy, and there’s just something about a pot of homemade soup on a cool, drizzly evening.

I thought I’d share the recipe with you because sometimes the best meals are the simplest ones! This is from scratch! No cans of soup.

Now I’m curious…what’s on your dinner table tonight? Are you making soup, pulling something out of the freezer, or trying something else? 😊

🌧️ A little reminder that the Bakestand is CLOSED today!
Mike and I traded baking for a much-needed family day.

We’ve been looking high and low for a vehicle for our 17-year-old, Alex, and finally found a nice older truck right here in Leonard. So yesterday we made the purchase!

We don't get to see our oldest very often. Hunter, is 24 and with his girlfriend, Abagale, we made the most of our time together. We headed out to Westview for a wagon ride, tackled the corn maze, gave some goats a little lovin’, and enjoyed some of the best donuts around. We finished the day with a delicious dinner at Spice 21 in Romeo. If you go, I highly recommend the chicken korma, garlic naan, and dopiaza! Incredible Indian food!

As much as I LOVE baking for you all, baking every weekend means I miss out on a lot of Saturdays with my family. Yesterday was a good reminder that sometimes we need to put the aprons down and just enjoy the day together.

Thank you for understanding and for continuing to support our little bakehouse. We’ll be back at the Bakestand next Sunday, October 18th, from 10 AM–6 PM!

As a baker, I never really know what to put out each week! I try to rotate things, follow the seasons, and keep the Bakestand interesting, but I’d really love to hear from you.

What are we doing well? What would you like to see more of? Or maybe something you just don’t care for? It’s okay, I can take it! 😂

I’m not really a “fad” baker, so there are some things you probably won’t find here. But we’re also Two English Acres because of Mike’s English roots, and I love bringing a little of that into the Bakestand with crumpets, Welsh cakes, English scones, Bakewell tarts and flapjacks.

So tell me… how are we doing?

What would you like more of? What should we bring back?
I really want to hear from you!

Just a little reminder in case you missed our October calendar pinned at the top of the page.

We will NOT be open this weekend! We’re taking a little break to enjoy the pumpkin patch, fall festivities, and some much-needed family time with our kids. 🎃🍎

We’ll be back at it Sunday, October 18th!

Keep an eye out for the preorder next Monday, October 12th, if you’d like to get your favorites lined up for the following weekend.

I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to this.

You choose to take part of your day, drive out to our little Bakestand, spend your hard-earned money, and then take something we made home with you.

And today, you completely sold us out by 2pm. 🥹

That’s pretty incredible when you really think about it.

We’ve been receiving some wonderful feedback lately, and it’s been so fun hearing what you’re loving. And apparently…crumpets might just be the new obsession around here! 😂

Truly, thank you for showing up for us, supporting what we’re building, and making this little Bakestand feel like something special. We don’t take a single visit, purchase, or kind word for granted. We’re pretty darn grateful for you. ❤️

It’s a beautiful fall Sunday here at Two English Acres, sunny, cooler, and full of color. One of my favorite times of year! 🎃

We’ve got a full lineup of fall favorites today:

* Sourdough brown butter dark chocolate walnut cookies

Tomorrow is Bakestand day! 🍂

I’m loving this cooler weather. I love fall and everything that comes along with it. Crisp mornings, warm spices, apples, pumpkin, and lots of baking.

Tomorrow we have some delicious treats that remind me of fall:

🎃 Pumpkin snickerdoodles
🍎 Apple cinnamon crumb muffins (Regular and GF!)
🍫 Dark chocolate walnut cookies
🤎 Cinnamon rolls

We’ll also have crumpets and plenty of sourdough bread, along with farm fresh eggs, pancake mixes, and honey.

Okay… I’m a day late getting this posted! I’ve been a little under the weather, and between that and car shopping for our son Alex, we’ve been keeping pretty busy around here!

But here we go! This week’s preorder flavors are:

🍞 Classic
🎃 Pumpkin Spice
🍂 Cranberry Walnut
🌶️ Jalapeño Cheddar

A few people asked last Sunday, “Where are the bread bowls?” and “Where are the jalapeño cheddar loaves?”

They’re preorder only! ❤️

We simply can’t fit every flavor in the Bakestand each week, so you’ll typically find our classic sourdough along with a handful of other flavors.

If there’s a flavor you want, don’t ever hesitate to ask! If we can make it, we’re happy to add it to a preorder.

Preorders close Thursday at 8pm for Sunday pickup.

And yes… the bread bowls will be back soon. 😉
