We know holiday weekends are made for gathering with family, relaxing, and enjoying sweet treats together, and we were so excited to be part of that. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans this weekend 🌧️

Round 2 of chemo is officially in the books. I’m starting to see a pattern now — three days of treatment, followed by about a day and a half of what can only be described as a full hibernation… and then little by little, I start climbing back up.

Losing my hair hit harder than I expected. I cried for days. Every morning I’d brush it, and the brush would be full. People say, “It’s only hair. It’ll grow back.” And yes, that’s true. But that’s not really the point. There’s something about watching it fall out that feels like you’re losing more than just strands. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it.

At my last infusion, one of the nurses asked if I had visited the Cancer Support Community in Knoxville. Yesterday, I did — and I’m so thankful I went. If you know someone walking this road, tell them to stop in there.

The women working yesterday were incredible. They have a whole room filled with wigs, head coverings, scarves, pillows — so much I can’t even list it all. And it’s all free for cancer patients. The generosity of complete strangers brought tears to my eyes.

I spent time trying on wigs (turns out there is an entire education required to wear one properly — who knew?). There was another survivor there who shared so much wisdom with me. I walked in feeling vulnerable… and I walked out with a couple of wigs and something I didn’t even realize I needed back.

My dignity.

One round at a time. 💛

As we celebrate this season and look ahead to the New Year, we want to pause and say how truly grateful we are. Your support, kindness, and encouragement have been such a blessing to our family, and we don’t take that lightly.

In the coming year, Dana Kay’s Delectables will be introducing porch pickups and preorders, making it easier for you to enjoy our treats. We’re also excited to expand our menu to include treats inspired by different countries and cultures, helping us connect with our neighbors and customers in meaningful ways through food. 🌍🍪

We’re currently working on updating our website, cards, and eventually our cart, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to grow and serve you better. Every step forward is possible because of the community God has placed around us.
