One of our team members traveled all the way to Florida to hook up with 4 Schmidts and Giggles BBQ (his brother and his brothers wife) to compete in Pigfest 2026. It was there first time doing a competition together (why not do the first one 20 hours from home), and they decided to do all 11 categories over two days. After a lot of planning, prep, sweat, laughter, and hard work they managed a 3rd place in Steak and a 2nd place in lamb. Main category cook did not get the results that they hoped but a lot was learned.

Huge shout out to Melotte for helping get all of the chicken, pork, ribs, brisket, lamb together that were needed for the contest. Everything looked great and tasted fantastic.

Thanks to all who helped get stuff together to travel that far, for lending them smokers to take along, and for the support of everyone along the way. Thank you to the Pigfest crew for making it a fantastic event.

Congrats to Fred Vegas Smokers on the GC and Iowa's Smokey D's BBQ on the RGC!

Thanks to all who came out Friday night at the Shawnee Great Grillers BBQ! Broken Bottle finished 8th overall out of 74 teams with a 4th in ribs, 11th in pork, 11th in chicken, and 21st in brisket. Congrats to Mad Mutt's BBQ with the GC and Slaps BBQ with the RGC!

We missed you Casey! Just not the same without you.

Thanks to all who came out Friday night for the party at the Great Lenexa BBQ Battle! Broken Bottle finished 18th overall out of 172 teams with a 5th in brisket, 14th in pork, 71st in chicken and 73rd in ribs. Congrats to Mulkey's BBQ with the GC and Smokey Bey's Barbeque with the RGC!

Thanks to all who came out Friday night for the party at the Great Lenexa BBQ Battle! Broken Bottle finished 36th overall out of 167 teams with a 3rd in brisket, 41st in chicken, 80th in ribs and 105th in pork. Smokin in the Creek was a great time as always. 9th place ribs, and a couple categories just outside the top ten. After several beers, high winds, walking tacos and mini donuts, we managed to get through the entire competition without one broken item!

Indiana Bones is now Broken Bottle BBQ. We’ve accidentally broken enough stuff (bourbon bottle, trophy, finger, etc.) during competitions, we figured we might as well be named after what we do best. Looking forward to seeing everyone at our first competition in Sugar Creek, Mo on Apr 22!

Thanks to all of our family and friends who came out to the Great Lenexa BBQ Battle this weekend! It was great to have it back at Sar Ko Par and open to the public. Indiana Bones finished 18th overall out of 164 teams with a 10th place ribs call. Congrats to LOVE2Q on the GC, Pirates of BBQ Bay on the RGC and our neighbors Sublime BBQ on 3rd!

Smokin' in the Creek 2022 in the books. Indiana Bones first competition for the year. 1st Place Ribs and finished 20th overall. Not the start we were hoping for but had a great weekend. Thank you to the Sugar Creek team for making it a fantastic event.
