Soraya started in the kitchen in the when was just 5 years old. Wanting to always get her hand on food, her parents taught her how to first wash fruit, lettuce and fold napkins. They told her she would move on in stages once she earned the promotion. She moved on to seasoning food and making salads. That wasn't enough for Soraya, she wanted to prepare meat. She started making cakes and cookies bec
ause it was safer then preparing meats at that age. By the time Soraya was in the 4th grade she was baking cakes, cookies and snacks for sale and her business started. By the time Soraya was in the 5th grade she was already making dishes, lamb chops, chicken, spaghetti etc. During the summer, Soraya attended many Food Network events. She had the opportunity to meet and talk with Rachel Ray, Guy Ferrari and Alton Brown. The highlight of her young age was when she was called up to cook with Paula Deen at the Food and Wine festival. She learned food science from Alton Brown, how to cook quick delicious meals from Rachel Ray by watching them all the time. One day, Soraya prepared a breakfast/brunch dish that so delicious, her mother sent it in to Rachel Ray. Ray's kitchen prepared the meal and too found it flavorful and put it on her yum-o website. Yearly, Soraya ran bake sales to feed hungry youth in america through Food Network's SHARE OUR STRENGTH. Today, Soraya is a college student and has returned to use her skills to work for herself. She still gives back in so many ways. Her business over the years included cupcakes, cakes, cookies, ice cream, chocolates, chocolate covered pretzels, health bars, rice crispy treats. Today she prides herself in making delicious quiche and Sunday Dinners. Thank you for joining this page. Bon Appetite!
