Adrian,
Four years without you. We miss and love you so much. We know you are still with us, just in a different way. We see you in Gianna’s kindness, JJ’s love for gaming, Salvatore’s athleticism and Josephine’s silliness. Your mom amazes us everyday with her strength, wisdom and grace. She wrote a beautiful letter and thought others can take comfort in it as well. Until we see you again…
Love you,
Aunties
Alecia’s letter to Adrian:
Adrian ❤️
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
That is the verse I tell myself every day cause I know I can’t do this without Him.
Adrian, I miss you more than anyone truly knows. I laugh, I talk, I play my part—but behind my smile is a broken heart.
There are moments when life feels unbearable without you. I miss you, and I cry. And then it’s as if Jesus taps me on the shoulder and reminds me that you are in heaven, whole and happy, having so much fun. He reminds me that we will all be together again.
I watch your cousins playing, and my heart aches knowing you should be there with them—laughing, growing, living life alongside them. Then Jesus taps me again and shows me how close you brought us all to Him, how deep our relationship with Him has become because of you.
Pops, they say time heals, but really, it just teaches us how to live with the ache.
I know and we know Adrian is in heaven, full of joy, and we know we will see him again. And still, our hearts are broken—and that’s okay. Because I know this to be true that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18.
Don’t forget tears are prayers too.
Mommy misses you and loves you so so very much Adrian.
