Sorry about the long read on a Sunday… but I’m in my feelings… and so grateful and thankful. 🫶🏼

👑 THERE’S A LITTLE MORE BEHIND DOUGH’PAMINE QUEENS THAN JUST CAKE & COOKIES. 👑

When we say Dough’pamine Queens is a family-owned AND family-operated bakery, we really mean it. 💗

And our family looks a little different and is made of a group of people who show up for each other every single day in the best possible way!

We all live with things the world calls disabilities. Things that, at different points in our lives, have made us feel like maybe we weren’t capable of doing what everyone else could do.

We’ve dealt with physical limitations, chronic pain, seizures, neurodivergence, communication struggles, cancers, and battles you probably wouldn’t know were happening just by seeing us behind the counters smiling and welcoming you in.

There are days when simply showing up takes more out of us than anyone realizes.

But we show up. 👑 We show up for you and for each other.

We bake.
We wash dishes.
We answer phones.
We help customers.
We make mistakes.
We fix mistakes.
We laugh hysterically at each other.
We drive each other absolutely CRAZY. 😂
And somehow, together, we keep this little bakery running like a well oiled machine most of the time.

The beautiful thing about a family business is that there’s room for all of us here.

We don’t expect everyone to work the same way or at the same pace.
We figure out what each person is good at and give them a place to shine. We also find roles for growth within each of us.

Something that looks like a weakness in one environment can become a strength in another if given the opportunity to shine.

And maybe that’s one of the things I’m most proud of about Dough’pamine Queens.

Yes, I’m proud of the desserts.

But I’m even prouder that we’ve created a place where the people I love the most don’t have to apologize for being different.

Where having limitations doesn’t mean you don’t have value or have less value.

Where needing a little patience, understanding, flexibility, or help doesn’t mean you aren’t capable of doing incredible things. Because we can and will accomplish it all together!

We aren’t a perfectly polished bakery family.

We’re a REAL one.

A family full of people that have been knocked down in more ways than I can count, and somehow keep finding a reason to get back up, put on an apron, and keep going.

So when you walk into Dough’pamine Queens, you’re supporting a lot more than a small bakery.

You’re supporting a family that decided the things that tried to hold us back weren’t going to write the ending of our story. 💜👑

And every single time you walk through our doors, place an order, share one of our posts, or tell someone about us… you become a little part of that story too.

So Again, Thank you for giving our wonderfully imperfect family a place in this community. 🫶🏼
